Mods, please feel free to merge this post if a similar thread exists(I didnt find any..) I noticed this youtube channel with a few full matches featuring Pakistan. I stumbled upon this full match video of the India Pakistan game in the 1996 Champions Trophy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RaOfm_8z20...

Re: Tennis at the London Olympics 2012

I am SO excited to be posting here. In my 4 years on this forum, and 27 years of following Indian tennis, this is the first time I am following a match with online fans for company :-) And I'm typing this from a unix browser! Yet another day at the office for LP. He will do the job. Keep the faith p...

Re: Tennis at the London Olympics 2012

I believe MB certainly doesnt want to go out on this note. He will definitely be there at the US-O. After all, he won a Grand Slam less than 2 months ago! I know many are feeling pretty livid now at this tamasha but one big part of me wants to show some sympathy to Hesh(rapidly puts on a helmet). Th...

Re: Tennis at the London Olympics 2012

Jay and others,
Did Mahesh mention this will be his last hurrah?

What's the chance he will be back at the US to end in a blaze of glory?

Re: Tennis at the London Olympics 2012

Is a semi-final berth confirmation of a bronze or do you have to play a match to get 3rd place?
If no match is needed, Indian pairs need 2 wins each to be assured of a medal, right?

Silent reader of this thread for many days.

Just woke up today after dreaming that Mahesh-Rohan pair reached the Olympic final. Beat myself hard and went back to sleep :D

Re: India in England, Summer 2011

So, what's the connection to a hat-trick? .. Well, Kirmani finally fell to a Peter Petherick, when we were on 399 there. I remember that because, as a 13 year old, I had thought of Petherick as one of the greatest new bowlers to emerge then, as I had heard of his hat-trick earlier in the year again...

Re: India in RSA, 2010

Most of you guys are all dreaming! :D

Dhoni could not go on the offensive at 130/6, what is the chance of him advocating an aggressive chase of 341?

If India draw, that's their best ever result in SA so Dhoni will be very pleased with it, particular after starting the series with 136 and 620/4D.

Re: Indian football - the eighties

Not sure of this but I wonder if Roger Milla's visit to India around 1993 was his second, having probably visited India with the Cameroon team in 1982.

Re: Indian football - the eighties

I was wondering if Enzo Francescoli had been part of the 82 Uruguay side too. The following link confirms that

Of course he was captain cool of his team in 86WC and I suppose had made his mark in 82 as well.

Re: Indian football - the eighties

Towards end of 1989, Julian Camino who used to play for Argentina in the Nehru Cup around '82-83, turned out in East Bengal colors for a few tournaments. It was not rare to see some of the upcoming foreign players who had visited India for the Nehru Cup to go on to represent their countries at highe...

Re: question on a past tournament

Got some info on this tournament http://salgaocarsc.com/clubhistory.php?p=4 "Clubbed alongside with East Bengal, Olimpia (Paraguay) and Lyngby (Denmark), Salgaocar Sports Club lost 6-0 to Olimpia, 3-0 to Lyngby before holding ...." Lyngby rings a bell. This was actually the one-off Nehru C...

Re: Indian football - the eighties

sree, welcome to the forum :-) Feel free to post frequently. Are you referring to the 1992 Santosh trophy in Coimbatore that Kerala won beating Goa 3-0? I will post what I recollect but sadly I stopped following football from '92 onwards. Next time I visit India I can scan some pics from 80's tourna...
