Re: Indian Cycling Thread ...

Wow! It’s anecdotes like this which make this group unparalleled anywhere. What a great group of contributors. I’m in awe.

Re: Fed Cup Thread for India ..

Given our junior pool has largely not translated into senior success, it might not be a bad thing. Of course, I’ve posted my theory on why our juniors do well at world level several times. I won’t repeat it here, but let’s just say that it’s not their superior abilities.

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread

The question was lack of resources and support for Yuki and not his luck. He had plenty.

Didn't realize Prajnesh came from an extremely well to do family.

Only makes you wonder where Yuki (and others in Indian tennis) would have been if he had that luxury.
In my view, Yuki did not suffer because of lack of resources or support. His suffering is largely his own doing.

Nice, thanks to Vatsal and Vishnu for getting this arranged, I think! They’ve been instrumental lately in drumming up support from our consulate and embassy folks.
Kudos Vishnu and Vatsal. Great work.

Re: India in New Zealand ODIs, 2019

Yes, I’ll go to one of the potential listed players. Don’t care about what their experience level is. If they’re not in the squad, of course it’s not possible. My comment was to indicate my dissatisfaction with the proven dud dudes. I’d rather get another batsman or a batting all rounder, who can ev...

Re: Davis Cup 2019 - India

If Pakistan can assure security and we evaluate it to see that it is truly adequate, then there is no reason we should not play there. It is stupid to not do so. The legitimacy of Pakistan does not belong to us alone. The world already recognizes it. It has existed for over 70 years. I would think ...

Nope. Not him too. I said Gurbani. Or someone from under 19 World Cup winners.

Down with Ahmed. He’s useless. I’d rather try Gurbani.

Re: India in New Zealand ODIs, 2019

Looks like the Indian women’s cricket team wanted to emulate their male counterparts. They have recovered slightly though to at least make it a respectful result, regardless of what it turns out to be at the end.

Re: India in New Zealand ODIs, 2019

Well, time for Gill to shine and the middle order to pass a test that will no doubt appear at some time whether in regular matches or World Cup. Dhawan and Sharma should be the ones to bear the responsibility but they aren’t up to the mark. But, good test for mental toughness. Edit: so much for that...

Agree. Despite the intent, celebrating someone’s ACL tear is not good.
