Re: Davis Cup 2018 - India

I wouldn’t be too sure about Serbia spending more than India. https://www.nytimes.com/2010/12/02/sports/tennis/02iht-SRDCDJOKOVIC.html From an article about ten years old cited above, read this: The bandwagon is getting heavier, and there are plans for the Serbian government, no major player until n...

Re: India in England, 2018

Prasen, Aussie domestics mean something; ours is a joke.

Re: India in England, 2018

Prasen, you always use “go back to the domestics” as a solution. But, these guys are domestic “dadas.” As I said earlier, these players rarely play domestics and that’s not really going to prove anything for them but it will make other players better so we have a battle hardened and meaningful bench...

Re: India in England, 2018

Pandya is hardly a test level player. Should never have been a part of the test team. There have to be better all rounders available. Since our test players hardly ever play long versions of the game that isn’t a test match, we just choose players based on shorter version of the game. And it shows. ...

I think Vihari will prove that it’s the right decision as will Jadeja.

Re: India in England, 2018

We’ve had so many of those heartaching failures in the last few years and the current Asian games ones too, which make me nervous. But, this bowling attack has generally delivered. Now, it’ll be up to slip catching and resolute batting to win the match. I think Kohli himself and through his leadersh...

Re: India in England, 2018

It will be a real test of the new India Kohli talks about. Unlike others, I’m optimistic. The bowlers have to do their magic first. May be we will get them for less than 100. That is my shot of Basuade talking. :D

Re: Asian Games 2018, Indonesia - Jakarta Palembang 2018

These teams have no pressure in demanding prizes and perks when they win. So much expenses go into training and sending a team and they lay an egg. What a waste of resources; we should put it toward training individuals instead.

Re: India in England, 2018

What was Pant doing for 29 balls? And an aggressive batsman like he’s supposed to be out to a spinner in the last over before tea? That’s a massive choke.

Re: Asian Games 2018, Indonesia - Jakarta Palembang 2018

If only the three so-called "can't lose" teams had come through! ... Who called or thought those three can’t lose? I fully expected both hockey teams and Men’s kabaddi teams to lose; women’s kabaddi team, I thought might win at least at this games. I fully expect India to not win a kabaddi gold aga...

Re: India in England, 2018

We detractors of Ishant need to do a mea culpa. Yes, I remember I couldn’t hear a word against him for several years after “that” spell to Ponting. And, for the last several years, I could not stand him being in the team of any level, let alone test team. Now, he has indeed redeemed himself in this...

Re: India in England, 2018

As I’ve always maintained, having a successful opening partnership is key to India’s success. This means holding the fall of wicket for the first 20-30 overs even if they don’t score many runs. This was exemplified best in an overseas tour of Australia by Aakash Chopra. Sehwag was an exceptional bat...
