On the other hand, Saki will be almost certain to make the qualifying draw at Australian open if he wins the title. So, I will rout for Saki today. :D
You better root not rout for him Sameer :p

Re: Davis Cup 2018 - India

Wouldn’t having Ankita create a conflict of interest with Yuki being in the mix?

Re: West Indies in India, 2018

I think you are giving us too much power. We can just ask each other. BCCI is not looking for advice even if it’s free :D But sure. Whatever works. I’m tired of our bowlers’ inability to knock over the lower order more than the inability of our lower order to make a meaningful batting contribution.

Re: West Indies in India, 2018

Prasen, I think there are so many ifs but we essentially are in the same space. Given that we have high scoring games in India and now many other parts of the world, we will be frequently calling upon the batting skills of the bowlers to take us over the line rather than the other way around. We jus...

Re: West Indies in India, 2018

Thanks Kujo. I didn’t want to prolong the argument with Prasen. I’m convinced that for indian team, a fully loaded strong batting only team would do better than even the so called all rounders. But, essentially I agree that being a good bat should be first criterion. The problem with extrapolating c...

We need bowlers who can bowl too :-)
Doesn’t matter much in India or for the India team, unfortunately. If we had all 11 top bats for India, they’ll probably concede no more than 25 total extra runs than our so called bowlers do.

We need bowlers who can bat much more than the other way around. Period.

Re: West Indies in India, 2018

I have said it before and I’ll say it again. No bowler should be selected if they cannot extend the tail while batting. Time and again, it is being proven over and over. And we are the absolute worst. It hurts us both ways—we give away too many runs to the lower order and we cannot squeeze any life ...

Re: $150K(+H) Bangalore/$50K(+H) Pune Challenger, Nov.12-25, 2018

Unbelievable that Yuki is skipping the big home tournament in Bangalore. Utter insanity! I presume he is angling for an appearance fee, otherwise this makes no sense. I hate to say this but I have completely given up on Yuki. The country tries hard to put on tournaments like this and he gives a lam...

How about starting with just the ability to swim as a requirement for high school graduation? It ought to be an indispensable life skill that will also serve as PE requirement.

Honestly, only wrestling and shooting can produce random medals for India. Every other medal will come from an expected category.
This may be true, but can we predict with certainty that medals from other sports are certain? If we cannot, are they random then?

Any and all of Indian “youth” achievements need to be discounted heavily. Well, most of them anyway. I’ll be loathe to draw any future hopes based off such results.

Shaw and Pant showing the futility of letting the old baggage hang on and on. In a country like India where there is no dearth of upcoming talent, so much talent withers away due to barnacles growing on dead wood.

Great news. Also Jeremy's winning margin of 11 kgs. is big and indicates that he dominated the competition. Jeremy is only 15 and if nurtured well can become a medal prospect in 6 years time at olympics.
IDK how weight categories work, but does this 15 year old weigh around 62 kg?
