Or a simple question on how Chidambram's son deserves a position in a player's body...if we ignore all the facts, then yes, this is nice!
But in any case, at least Somdev tries to speak well. Can't say that about some of our aging and future Indian players. So kudos on that.

Re: Yuki Bhambri
When I search for the "hurts" comment associated with Yuki, I only get hits for the following news report and that does not have any mention of "worse players" part in it. http://www.thehindu.com/sport/tennis/it-hurts-to-see-your-country-lose-yuki-bhambri/article4372646.ece . In...

Re: Yuki Bhambri
But when did Yuki speak bad of Paes? I Googled and searched on tennisindia forum, but didn't find any reference to Yuki's supposed trashing of Paes. The only supposed "trashing" I could find was during Olympics time, where he sort of criticised Paes for not wanting to partner him or Vishn...

Well, his partner should definitely have retired. Mahesh and Lee are old but Nestor is ancient!

If Rohan Bopanna had not completely burnt and then blown up the bridge with leander, it would have a good chance for him to play with leander

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
The financial angle is a big problem for me. You cannot (and that includes the rich ones like Mahesh) take taxpayer money and then say 'no' to India. Even all emotions aside, this is theft of government property. There's absolutely no other reason (than that the country hopes they will play for the ...

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
The bottomline is you can't have a successful union in a sport that is not a revenue generator. In this instance the players need the country and tax payer rupees more than the country needs a 300 or a 500 ranked player to fight it out in the lower echelons of Davis Cup. They are certainly overplayi...

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Frankly, I don't think Yuki has what it takes to be in top-100. His early success seems to have gone to his head. That, along with no planning from his coach/parents. I am still appalled by the disdain with which he talks about Paes. His comments after the DC tie were equally appalling -- he said he...

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
Well, he probably thought "future" means playing tennis at some point in the future and "challenger" means he's up for a challenge.

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
Some interesting discussions here, although I believe there's one fundamental difference with an American league vs. Indian tennis. American leagues are for-profit commodities where players generate revenue and support teams. Outside of cricket, most Indian sports are not revenue generators for anyo...
