Re: Premjit Lall thread
Came across this wonderful article from his daughter Joya Lall written in 2022: https://countrysquire.in/2022/02/04/hey-daddy/. Sorry I am pasting the complete article as too often I have seen that these artifacts get taken down and there is no recourse to getting the content back “Hey Daddy!” FEBRU...

Actually, I thought Mugu said IOC will pay. So, what is the big deal? IOC gets its money from the Taxpayers. There have been rising concerns on tax payer money being used to fund athletes who are not medal contenders. See the saga from the Asian Games: https://old.ptinews.com/news/sports/athletes-l...

If they earned their spot at the extremely elite stage like Olympics and valuable taxpayer money is a concern, why not let them pay for their own costs?Sin Hombre wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 11:40 pm We should not send anyone who has not met qualifying standards in a reputed IAAF meet. This also shows that RamK has got his confidence back, about his game. I am really looking forward to a resurgence this year, back to top-200. Is top-200 worth it when he can be a regular top-10 doubles player? In the pursuit of this top-200 ATP / Grand Slam qualies career, he is losing out on pote...

I watched the Prajnesh match in its entirety but couldn’t watch the prajwal or Sumit matches live as I had to be home to look after my dad. I was trying to get Prajnesh to step back a few feet on the Hamad serve - that guy was serving accurate unreturnable bullets in the first set and his coach Bal...

Well apart from Rutuja, Ankita, Karman and Sumit, we have a first final outside India. I wonder what Anirban's tax domicile is. If it is India, he will pay around 37.5% of that US$2.5 million to the government, but he will probably have to pay more in the US or most European countries. Anirban relocated to Dubai before joining LIV Tour. Source: https://gulfnews.com/sport/golf-in-uae/...

These USA ITFs are generally though around this time as it is College break and so lot of College Tennis biggies are lurking in the draws, whose WTA rank is mis-representative. Ellie Douglas, as Jay has mentioned, has been Indian Wells U18 finalist and top-320 WTA player. If Sahaja overcomes that, t...

Not possible for the next 30-40 years. In my opinion - India needs to become a middle income country (from poor country) for non-Cricket/Badminton infrastructure and people preferences to evolve.Mukherjee Babu wrote: ↑Fri Jun 16, 2023 11:57 am fans move away from the game like it hapened back in 2000 match fixing saga

It is an obscene amount of money made by a guy that not even 10 people buy tickets to see play golf at any of those events abroad. Neither has he sold even $10K worth of products for the companies sponsoring those events. I can't wrap my head around this at all. Its big in sporting terms but not so...
