Re: Tennis at the London Olympics 2012

Federer was looking much below his normal level today. He had played a lot of tennis since his back bothered him (against Benneteau) in the first week of WImbledon and the gruelling semifinal against Del Potro certainly did not help. Was something bothering him today? I just did not see that extra g...

Re: $100K Aptos Challenger, Aug 6-11 2012

Isn't Aptos a kind of home tournament for Kash? May explain why he decided to taste waters right here after a long hiatus.

Good win for Rajeev considering how well Brian Baker has been playing lately and how he has resurrected his career.

Re: Karan Rastogi Thread ...

Karan, kudos to you for persevering through your nerve condition and through the injuries. Your's is an inspiring story. You've given it all for your passion and you should be very proud of yourself for all the things you've achieved in your career. I can very well empathize with you. I have a very ...

Re: ATP Tennis/Non-India Davis Cup

Federer's record of 33 consecutive QFs at the Slams is all the more remarkable when you consider the injury-based withdrawals of his contemporaries. Not defending your Olympic title is pretty shameful for a player still close to his prime. I think his withdrawal from Wimbledon 2009 too was unseemly...

Re: ATP Tennis/Non-India Davis Cup

Win-loss records don't matter at this level, but injuries do. Injuries would matter the most for him at this time. He has surpassed almost every milestone in his tennis career by now. I don't think Nadal would be dumb enough to play through the injury and jeoparadise his longeivity. He's probably t...

Re: The olympics team pairing thread

They may be sentimental but they reached 4 finals, winning 2 of them so they did not stick together for nothing. Paes does well with serve-and-volley women players and thats why his other titles came with Raymond and Black. He does not have any other noteworthy mixed doubles partnerships. Well said.

It was exactly the opposite. Borg used to play with extremely high tension in his racquet, probably the highest in his contemporaries (in the range of 75-85lb).
