Re: 2009 European Tour: BMW Int'l Open Jyoti, Shiv, SSP

This is Shiv's first top=ten on a European Tour event in Europe. So, in a way, he has reached a small milestone. Now he needs to step it up and bring consistency into his game.

Re: Arjun Atwal thread

I believe there is a PGA Tour rule which says golfers who are eligible to play in a PGA Tour event, cannot play in a lesser tour's event in the same week. It is the 13 point on the Nationwide Tour Eligibility Requirements-: https://svrnsweb1.pgatourhq.com/Tour/WebTemplate/media.nsf/2c47cc31e412bc498...

Re: Arjun Atwal thread

It seems the Nationwide Tour Players Cup does not allow PGA Tour players and Arjun says he wasn't aware of that.... He is looking now to make a return at John Deere....Hopefully, we will finally see him in action, fully fit and ready to go for a title.

Re: History of Indian Golf

I saw some information on history of golf that says "1820 The first golf course outside of Britain is opened in Bangalore, India." source http://www.golf.about.com/cs/historyofgolf/p/timeline180050.htm This precedes Royal Calcutta Golf Course established in 1829 I asked Brent who writes f...

Re: Jeev Milkha Singh (Asia #1) in US Open 2009

Looks like the injury is affecting Jeev. He says each time the ball gets into the rough he has no other option but to chip it out. He had earlier stated that he might have sustained the rib injury while playing out of the rough during the European Open at the London Golf Club. Let's hope he doesn't ...

Re: Arjun Atwal thread

Atwal is now believed to be on the path to recovery and has also started practising. He says he will start competitive golf with a Nationwide Tour event starting June 25, to gain tournament sharpness, before getting back to the PGA Tour

Re: Jeev Milkha Singh thread ... Asia #1, WR#34

Jeev has given everyone a bit of a scare by saying he is doubtful for the US Open. But now it seems he might just go on and play the tournament-:

The final decision, he says, is still pending.

Re: History of Indian Golf

It is great that this link has been started trying to trace out the history of Indian golf. While the link posted, of indiangolftour.com, is not operational anymore, I believe most of the piece has been shifted to the PGTI site. If I am not wrong, it has been written by Swamy. There are a lot of won...

Re: Other Indian Golfers thread

Rashid was initially planning to turn pro after the Asian Games in 2010 but now he is considering turning pro early next year. The reason- He has won five tournaments and finished second in six of the last seven tournaments he has played on the amateur circuit. The only one where he did have a disap...

Re: Arjun Atwal thread

Aabha from the Indian Express had written a nice piece on Atwal when he was in India for treatment. She even did a follow-up story on him because although the alternative treatment was complete, other complications arose. He has taken a medical exemption from the tour and does not know for how long ...
