Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

Yeah, but we have done very well in delaying all this so much, so in the end, it is generally job well done. We did well in delaying the spread by the lockdown, right. But it's good only if a treatment/ vaccine is found in the interim or shortly after. If not, we probably will have to go a similar ...

Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

Of course. I didn't say that they need critical care, But you are right that Delhi could be doing a really good job and admitting twice or thrice as many people as the ones who really need to be a admitted to hospitals. I doubt it though :) Jay, probably you are right. There was a report that Bihar...

Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

Admitted in the hospital doesn't imply that all of them need critical care. Kerala admits all Covid positive cases & even people with covid like symptoms before receiving the results. Different States must be using different criteria.

I would say when the number of active cases start reducing consistently.

Re: Where do you think the number of India Covid-19 positive peak?

Way over a million- actually tens of millions. Even with a continued lockdown into June, we could reach almost a million by July & continue to add numbers. Lockdowns only help delay reaching the peak.

Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

Authorities are claiming lockdown success in flattening the curve. But what we have achieved is only delaying the inevitable. Doubling of total cases every 11 days is still not good enough- at this rate, we will have around 10 crore cases by Sept. With the relaxation of the lockdown, doubling could ...

I think no spinach & no gender issues. She is prodigiously talented, not too trained, unafraid & confident. I think we haven't seen the likes of her in Indian Atheletics. Within 5 months of taking up the event, she has proved herself at the world stage. She is no. 2 in Asia. The no.1 Bahrain...

Re: Commonwealth Games 2018, Gold Coast, Australia, April 5-14

She only started running 2 years back after switching from football and is still very young and 3-4 years from her peak age. Yes, but she was doing 100m & 200m. Federation Games Cup in March 2018 was the the first time ever that she had raced in 400m. No one had expectations but she won & q...

I'm excited about the prospects of Hima Das, who is new to 400m. We are still to discover her true potential, but I think sub 51s is on the cards within this year which will be a national record. Hope Jisna Mathew, who is 1 year older & PT Usha's trainee, will give her good competition. Looking ...

Re: Rio Summer Olympics 2016

What is great about Laita Babar's performance is not just her timing, but she achieved it despite having fell during the course of her run. She had to spend lot of energy to recover, yet she got 4th position in her heats (and I think faster than 3rd heats winner). If there is a special performance i...

Re: Destination Dubai World Superseries Finals

Tai was superb in the 2nd & 3rd sets with her deceptive game and wonderful drop shots and great control at the net. When she did that, Saina had no answer. But thankfully, Tai's game dropped at times which is which Saina scored. Saina needed to be% fit to counter Tai, which seems wasn't the case...

Both Martina and Sania were unhappy with the Chan sisters, for failing to acknowledge the touch of the ball on the racquet in one of the rallies which the umpire missed. People are calling Chan sisters cheats. I think competition as well as animosity between these sets of players will increase in fu...

Re: Indian Athletics Thread ...

I think Jaisha doesn’t want to continue the arduous training for the Marathon and is trying to opt for events which she feels is easier on her body. The Olympic qualifying timings in 1500m & 5000m are 4:06 & 15:20 and Jaisha’s PB in these events are 4:09.14 (Aug 2014) & 15:18.30 (Oct 201...
