Re: India-RSA Tests and ODIs, Feb 2010
Not too many sports can fill stadiums for 5 consecutive days in 15 different countries -- as cricket can. Test matches involving the top teams are still full in England, South Africa, Australia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad, Guyana and A...

Re: Obituaries
Interesting discussion.
Can someone explain me the reason behind the death of over 100 people in AP as a result of YSR's death ? Sounds bizarre ! Is this report true, or is the media attributing normal deaths to YSR's crash incident ?

Re: Doc's Near Death Experience
My sincere condolences to the Sharma family. Dr. Bhushan will be missed by one and all.
I used to be in constant touch with him via messages, and I've always admired his cheerful and warm nature. I was planning to call him this weekend !

Re: Atrocity!
Yes, the videos of the incident are very chilling. The first thing that came to my mind was the taser theory.
Had there been no video, I'm sure that BART and the investigating authorities would have already brushed it under the carpet.

So it's UP vs. Mumbai in the Ranji Finals. It'll be an interesting contest between the perennial power Mumbai and the emerging UP team. This is UP's 3rd trip to the finals in last 4 years.

Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
It's easy to defend 7 rpo, and its also very easy to play out 50 odd overs. I guess Dhoni wanted his 2 batsman to play those worthless overs and get some match practice, rather than his 11 players bowl and field during those overs. The bottom line is that the series was already over by that time.

Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia
What a phenomenal year for Gautam Gambhir! Everything he touched turned gold, be it test cricket, ODI, T20 or IPL20-20. In 2008: Tests: 1134 runs in 8 matches (16 innings), @ 70.87 runs per innings , with 1 double ton, 2 100s and 6 50s. ODIs.: 1109 runs in 27 matches (27 inngs), @ 46.62 runs per inn...

Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
India should have declared and given England 55 overs to play. Why ? There was very little chance to get Eng out in 55 overs. But given the way KP and Flintoff were batting yesterday, there could have been a nail biting finish in store had we given them 55-60 overs to play. Since the match was most...
