Re: "Asia Reborn"

I haven't been active on the forum in a few years but found this interesting link today where PKB questioned Rahul Gandhi. Interested to know if there was any exchange post the Q&A session. https://www.thequint.com/videos/news-videos/modi-would-never-answer-like-me-rahul-replies-to-jibe-on-famil...

Re: India in Australia - Dec 2011 - Mar 2012

The D/L revised target is the same as the non D/L target... Wondering if there could be a case where the target could be reduced too in such a situation...! Kujo got it almost right. Correct me if I'm wrong, Kujo, but I think the no. of wickets lost after the rain interruption doesn't matter (assumi...

Kohli gone in a moment of madness. Brain freeze I guess, run out trying to take strike when a night watchman is out there. 166/6.

Re: India in Australia - Dec 2011 - Mar 2012

Laxman goes -- 162/5. One more wicket in the next 2.4 overs and we could have the extra half hour to complete the match today. Some go-karting tomorrow. Good point by a user on cricinfo - " Sarangan: We do recognize the efforts of the legends in those days. But like Salary, it is paid for today...

Re: India in Australia - Dec 2011 - Mar 2012

Imagination? You mean "do the Gavaskar". I will never forget the guy going 1,0,0,1 etc, and seemingly ready to retire, and then suddenly hooking Malcolm Marshall for two sixers at the most unexpected time after getting beaten left and right for 2-3 overs (apparently the first time he play...

Re: India in Australia - Dec 2011 - Mar 2012

110/4 and Laxman is living dangerously poking tentatively at everything like he has been doing all along. Absolute lack of imagination -- atleast try to do something different when things aren't going your way. Why do you need support staff if you are going to do the same things over and over again?...

Re: India in Australia - Dec 2011 - Mar 2012

The series is officially a JOKE now. This is an absolutely flat track and if they can't play on this track, they don't deserve to play. The worst thing that can happen now is listen to tripe from players from the post match press conferences or after their return. Dear media, just write about revamp...

The only way this can happen is if he gets run out without facing a ball in I1.

Re: India in Australia - Dec 2011 - Mar 2012

:notworthy: BTW, I heard that the ICC is seriously looking into the proposal from the BCCI. Henceforth, India and Sri Lanka will tour the RSA and Australia respectively at the same time. India will play against RSA and Sri Lanka against Australia on the field. But, logically, India will actually pla...

Re: India in Australia - Dec 2011 - Mar 2012

Kolkata 2001 scarred them for life, I guess. A reasonable declaration nonetheless. I second PKB's thoughts that had we bowled first on this wicket, it would've been a different story altogether.

Re: India in England, Summer 2011

Manjrekar happens to be the only Indian recruit on the SKY commentary team; that perhaps explains the false confidence in his wisdom. Highly overrated guy. Gavaskar's and Shastri's comments are too biased and they are getting worse by the day. Ganguly seems to be the only one with a sane voice (if h...

Re: India in England, Summer 2011

Wonderful session... way to go! Time to clean up the next two and stamp your authority with the batting.

Prasen, the Zak argument was not about not being able to save it on the final day bcoz of him being injured but about the fact that in all probability we wouldn't have been in that position.

Re: India in England, Summer 2011

I agree batting is, has been and will always be our strength. Infact, I am one of the subscribers to your 11-batsmen theory in ODIs (particularly on subcontinent pitches.). But just think of it like this. Would England have won had they lost Broad, Tremlett or Anderson after bowling 13 overs? No way...
