At this weeks M15 event at Monastir, Manas did not succumb to Karma and has reached the second round.
Unfortunately, Bertrand likely awaits in the QF if he makes the QF.

Re: BWF tournaments in Asia- September 2025
The Guwahati title winner that I praised above (Saraswat)promptly went out in the first round of the Odisha Master to another Indian, Rounak Chouhan.
However, 18 year old Rounak Chouhan may be equally talented having also then beating the WR #45 to make the R-16 of the Odisha Masters.

Re: Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cups
Terrific come-from-behind victory over Argentina to secure the bronze. India were trailing 0-2 going into the final quarter, but shot as many as four goals in the final 15 minutes to win 4-2! Amazing stuff. Argentina withdrew their goalkeeper after going down 2-3, but India scored yet again. Truly ...

Re: BWF tournaments in Asia- September 2025
19 year old Sanskar Saraswat won the Super 100 tournament in Guwahati. He beat the Indonesian #44 along the way to the title.
He appears to have a really good game - possibly the best among our younger players. His right leg was heavily braced, so perhaps he had a serious injury, which might ...

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
Didn’t see match but based on stats he was 3/12 on BPs while his opponent was 5/7 on BPs. Seems to indicate that his opponent played the big points better. So, not a bad effort considering that he was playing after a relatively long break.

I suspect the winner of Aryan and Digvijay will be favorite for the title here. Of course, the hope is for Aryan to compete more regularly at the challenger level. For the others the points here will help them get entry into better futures and they will seek to be competitive in tougher futures ...

Re: Men's FIH Hockey Junior World Cups
Well we have at least matched our 2021 and 2023 results where we finished 4th. Interestingly, in both of those WCs, we lost to Germany in the SF (and then lost the 3/4 place match). So, hopefully we can reverse those results this time.

While I expect Manas to win, this could be a difficult matchup against an opponent in his home country.

The top 25 list for NIL money is 20 in American football and 5 in basketball. The money is substantial and some journeymen QBs will likely make more in college than they will as pros.

Re: US Challengers 2025
^^^Do we know that NIL money has flowed into tennis or the other smaller collegiate sports? My understanding was that it was mostly in American football and basketball that was getting most of the NIL money. I guess if a booster is a tennis fan, they may be investing NIL money in the tennis program?

Looks like India is struggling in this tournament losing 6-8 to Croatia and 4-8 to Japan.

Re: Aryan Shah thread
Somewhat surprising decision mainly because of his age. He will be basically 21 right after he starts next year, so will be close to 25 when he graduates unless he is able to graduate early.

Cool story! Looks like he is #10 in latest college rankings (above DK Suresh's #12).
His ability to reach challenger SFs indicates that he is competitive with challenger level pros.
