Re: East Asian Challengers, April-May 2019

I could not watch Prajnesh's final today. But, from all accounts it appears that conditions were windy and Jay Clarke handled it better. It seems he concentrated on keeping the ball in play and Prajnesh tried to hit winners and made all the errors. Probably after making sure of cut for Wimbledon ma...

Re: East Asian Challengers, April-May 2019

Really nice win by Prajnesh to make the SF. Watched the last few games and it appeared that they were playing through a wind storm which forced them to hold up play for the wind to die down a couple of times. He will move to a career high #76-77 depending on whether Cuevas (in Tunis SF) does better ...

Re: 5+-nation Tournament XI

Even though he hasn't done it for as long, I think Bumrah at his peak is likely more dangerous than any of our older pacers were at their peak.

Re: East Asian Challengers, April-May 2019

Nice win by both RamK and the Gunner. Tough QF matchups against opponents who are probably more comfortable on clay.

Good to see the Gunner dominate a good opponent on clay as he put a lot of pressure on his opponents service games while holding his own serve quite easily throughout the match.

Re: GOLF MAJORS/ WGC Events

Yes, Tiger will likely be the unquestioned GOAT if he can stay fit for the next couple of years or so as he has been playing at a very high level for the last year. He is now #2 in major wins with 15 behind Jack Nicklaus' 18 and #2 in PGA tour wins with 81 behind Sam Snead with 82 (with Jack Nicklau...

Re: East Asian Challengers, April-May 2019

Good to see confident wins by the Gunner and RamK. Doing well at the higher level Asian events is critical for them to maintain their rankings and give them the opportunity to move further up.

Worth noting that the Gunner is now at a career high of 80 and RamK is at 157.

Re: East Asian Challengers, April-May 2019

Yes, both Saki and Mukund need to win matches like this if they are to move up further in the rankings. Perhaps, for Mukund, this is a new ranking level and he may need to further develop his game to progress further.

Re: Indian Economy

Fully agree! Economic growth makes a big difference to the lives of many. While still very low, the standard of living of most Indians is quite a bit better than it was 30-40 years ago. Hopefully, the gap between India and China will narrow further given the higher growth rate in India now and the f...

Yuki's six month injury break will be over in mid-April. If he hasn't entered any of these events with either his PR or actual rank, then he must not be fit enough to play.

Re: Sultan Azlan Shah tournament

India crushed Poland 10-0, so the offense has really come alive in the last 2 matches. Korea also beat Japan 4-2, so the two best teams in the tournament will play in the final. Good luck to team India in the finals!

Shapovalov and Auger-Aliassame, the two young Canadians, are in the SF of the Miami Masters singles -- and will play the veterans Federer and Isner respectively for a place in the final. Huge for Canada! Heard the Tennischannel commentators note that the last set of teenagers who made Masters semif...
