Re: Indian Athletics Thread ...

Good to see the optimism! However, given that we haven't won an athletics medal yet, winning our first medal would be quite an achievement. Neeraj Chopra looks like the best bet but he has to continue to improve over the next couple of years to get there...

Re: Golf World Rankings of Indians

Yes, disappointing season for the Indian men. All of our top 3 have had short spells when they have looked really good but haven't been able to play well for any length of time.

Re: Davis Cup 2018 - India

I think Divij is our most versatile doubles player and should be an essential part of our future doubles teams. That is, we should look for the best pairing with Divij rather than looking to pair someone with Rohan who isn't as versatile. Of course, Divij and Rohan may be our best pair given their s...

Re: Indian Shooting thread

Three or even two medals would be a significant improvement in the Olympics. Since they also win big at the Asian games and the CWG, the shooters are our best investment for the multisport games....

Re: Sumit Nagal thread

Given that Bagit showed up again, I'd still play Ramk and Prajnesh in the Davis Cup singles matches, so not much impact to the Indian team. However, I Sumit can regain his form, he could be a good clay court option in the future....

Re: Davis Cup 2018 - India

Fully agree with Rohit. We are still the underdogs in both matches, so one win would be a good performance. On current form, Prajnesh has at least as much chance as RamK to pull out a win on clay...

Re: Indian Athletics Thread ...

Overall OK performance by our athletes considering that they must have peaked at the Asiad. While the performances were worse in many instances, they were in the range of a normal non-peak effort.

Re: Football: Indian National Team news ...

Our u-19 team lost to France 0-2. Considering that our u-19 team lost to Saudi Arabia 0-5 a couple of years ago, this is substantial improvement.

Re: Leander Paes thread...

It's time to move on from LP. we have younger players that have similar rankings and he does not pair up well with Rohan, so we don't gain much by having him as a player. We do lose the drama though :p

Re: Yuki Bhambri

I believe the PR is the average ranking of the first 3 months that he is out. While it will be in the 90s for the first few weeks, it will the lower for the remaining weeks.

Re: Yuki Bhambri

Not sure he needs a new injury. He's had several since March and some of them are chronic (i.e., previous injuries which were aggravated by his March run the Masters events). Obviously, he can still play at a decent level for a few sets as he showed at the USO but probably at the significant risk of...

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread

So Ramkumar is playing a Challenger, while Yuki is flying to Serbia to participate in the Davis Cup "camp" rather than play the Chicago Challenger... :damn: :damn: :damn: Incomprehensible & utterly stupid. I won't blame this on the camp. Yuki has entered and withdrawn from multiple events prior to ...

Re: Asian Games 2018, Indonesia - Jakarta Palembang 2018

Yes, winning 8+medals should be good goal but we don't have enough world class performances for that today. We should really invest in our light and middle weight mens and women boxers as well as women's weightlifting. Of course, badminton and the light and middle weight mens and women's wrestling r...
