Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Rutuja is the only one after Manisha from the women's side though, and we are yet to produce a top-200 player on the women's side who did US college tennis and returned. We have produced only 4 top 200 players in history on WTA circuit so far - Sania, Nirupama, Ankita and Karman. ( not counting Shi...

Re: ITF Team Juniors (u16 Davis/Fed Cup, u14 World Jun. Tennis)
First of the qualifying tournaments for this year takes places this week with under 14 girls competition in Kutching, Malaysia. And our girls are seeded as high as second in this year's competition. We are in group D and have won our first 2 matches by 3-0 scoreline against Singapore and Lebanon. We...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Yes, overall there are few on womens side who have gone to college and made it big on WTA tour as compared to those on the mens side. As far as India is concerned, there is nobody. One who is having decent success right now is Rutuja Bhosale but her career high ranking is still outside top 300 as co...

Re: ITF M25/M15 India- March/April 2023
Hopefully, 4-5 Indians will qualify. Wild cards in main draw have gone to Siddharth Vishwakarma, Rushil Khosla ( who will play each other), Karan Singh and Ishaque Eqbal. 6 Indians qualify for main draw. Faisal Qamar, Madhwin Kamath ( who had a good win over Vishnu) and Abhinav Sanjeev win in all I...

Prajnesh has now fallen to #431 in ATP rankings. As per this article it seems he has taken a break due to wrist injury.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Sumit is now at his rightful place as India #1 with a ranking of 374. Looks like he is currently he is training at Nensel acadamy in Germany for clay season. Most likely will start with qualifying for one of the 2 clay challengers next week if he gets in.

Re: ITF M25/M15 India- March/April 2023
3 of the second round qualifying matches could not be competed today it seems. But, for a change couple of Indian players knocked out top 2 seeds in qualies- L Badrinath was leading 75 12 against top seeded Australian Jacob Bradshaw when the Australian retired, Yash Chaurasia upset second seeded Can...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Almost no decent player trains in India these days. They have no faith in AITA and Indian coaches. So, those who can afford go to academies in Europe (mostly) and US. Those who cannot afford go to Thailand.

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Btw, both Yuvan and Aryan train at Impact acadamy in Thailand. Saw their post on FB- Impact Tennis acadamy As an academy nothing better than two players meeting in the final. Someone has to win someone has to lose but both had a good week. Train together, push each other, win together this is how. i...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Yes, Yuvan looks physically strong. He can transition faster to pros. Looks like these 2 could be playing in Mysuru and Chennai futures now in next 2 weeks. At Chennai futures, both of them are in as Junior reserved spots. In Mysuru, Aryan Shah appears in alternates to qualies but Yuvan is not there...

Re: European Challengers 2023
These kind of losses by RamK really baffle me. How does his level drop so much ? I mean at the start of the year, he had 2 wins over players ranked 153 and 175 and a close 3 set loss over player ranked 62 at Pune ATP. Then, he had 3 losees against players ranked 219,196 and 285 in Indian challengers...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Yuvan Nandal beats Aryan Shah 63 64 to win J300 title in Sarawak, Malaysia. I think Yuvan is first once among boys since Sumit Nagal back in 2015 to win this level title. With that title, Yuvan will go inside top 40 . Aryan too will be inside top 50. As said earlier, both should comfortably make the...

Re: Rohan Bopanna thread...
Quite amazing how Rohan has resurrected his career in last 2+ year. He was ranked outside top 40 at the start of 2022 and now here he is very close to top 10. And this at the age of 43. I thought Leander was the one who was supreme in terms of longevity. But, at age 43 he was ranked only around 50. ...

Re: ITF Junior circuit 2023 India
Never had any doubt about this result. Vihaan Reddy beat 16 year old Yash Singh 64 62 in the final. Did not drop a set this week. Won first 2 tournaments he played in ITF juniors at 13. He is clearly a special talent. Remains to be seen if he plays for India when time comes for him to choose. As per...
