Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Not much success at all for our juniors at J300 in Kitching, Malyasia. 3 Indian boys- Rethin, Krish Tyagi and Kadhavel Mahaligam went to second round in boys singles. Than, 8th seed Rethin got upset in second round , Kadhavel too lost, 11th seed Kriish Tyagi went to third round but lost there to 6th...

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
One sided loss for Sahaja. At W75 in Charlottesville, USA [R1] Sahaja Yamalapalli (IND,309) l. (1) Kayla Day (USA,84) 26 06 This green clay look so tough to adapt too. Hope Sahaja and Shrivalli get used to it soon. Next week, Sahaja is 3 out from main draw at W100 in Bonita Springs and Shrivalli is ...

Re: Paris Olympics 2024
Deepak Punia would have qualified if not for the Dubai desert floods. We still have the last qualification tournament at Istanbul from May9th, don't we stand any chance of qualifying 1 or 2 men there? The same set of wrestlers seem to be going to Istanbul. I would not say Deepak would have surely q...

Re: Paris Olympics 2024
We already had 7 last time, so 5 would be considered an underachievement. Let Sinhombre do the detailed projections but as of now I think anything more than 5 depends on shooting. Based on merits and performances over last 1 year, couple of medals should be there in shooting but than in last 2 olymp...

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
Sahaja upset Kayla Day in first round of WTA Mumbai, but that of course was on familiar courts and in familiar circumstances for Sahaja. On this green clay , the way Shrivalli struggled, I would be surprised if Sahaja even puts up a fight.

Re: Paris Olympics 2024
Yes, looks like projections would go down with mens wrestling, badminton (HSP/Sindhu) and to an extent from mens boxing and athletics (Sreeshankar).

This is a nice article on how Vinesh fought hard to get into 50kg category and won a quota for Olympics-

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
Just read this on twitter from someone who watched today's match- Ramkumar Ramanathan was just robbed of a match by a terrible chair umpire who in the tiebreak made a terrible correction call, two bad serves by Noguchi called in, and a shot off the line called in Thats a four point swing . That is b...

Re: Roland Garros Claycourt Run-Up Tournaments 2024
^^^ Sumit and Yuki may even qualify on S+D rankings (I have not checked, but I think they might make it in a 32-size draw). In that case, we can actually have two pairs, like, say RB and RamK for one and Yuki-Sumit for another. Actually Yuki-Sumit might even work quite well... Sumit and Yuki will n...

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
Good win by Manas and good to see that he came thru a long 3 setter. In the recent past in these kind of long matches, he has had fitness issues and he either retired or lost the third set cheaply. He next plays 8th seed. At M25 in Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy (clay) [R2] (Q) Manas Dhamne (IND,13...

Re: Indian Table Tennis Thread ...
This was likely what we would have done previously but it gets harder with Sreeja in the top-40 now. Sreeja is now new India #1 at #38 , 1 spot ahead of Manika who is at #39. That makes selection of our womens team even more difficult, we will have to see if Manika along with one of the Mukherjees ...

Re: Ankita Raina thread
Another disappointing one sided loss for Ankita in first round of W50 in Georgia, She lost Catherine Harrison (USA,485) 26 06.
Her game seems to be totally off right now.
