Re: Indian Shooting thread

And in the final, 5th and 6th placed shooters won the quota places as top 4 shooters already had quotas. It shows that by making the final Yeshswini and Manu would have had more than fair chance of getting an olympic quota. Sadly they could not keep their nerves in the last 10-15% of qualifying comp...

Re: Indian Shooting thread

Disappointment today in womens 10M air pistol event. Manu Bhakar with 575 ended 17th and Heena Siddhu with 572 ends 26th. Best Indian performance came from our third best shooter Yeshswini Deswal who finished 10th with a score of 577. Both Yeshswini and Manu were in line for the final ( being in 1st...

Re: Ankita Raina thread

Wow, what an amazing win by Ankita. :bounce: :bounce: Easily the best win of her career for Ankita on pro tour. I am getting a feeling that she is now getting ready to take the next step towards top 100 or top 125 at least. Ankita had double bagled her next opponent in the Pune 25K in November 2018....

Re: US Claycourt Challengers, April 2019

Santiago Giraldo has beaten players in top 100 and close to top 100 even in past few month. So, that is an impressive scalp for Sumit. That should give him a lot of confidence as his game seems to be getting back to where it was a couple of years back.

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread

It does look like he plans to play in Munich based on this article-

Re: Indian Boxing Thread

Did some research and this world champ didn't beat anyone of note in his world championship run. But, he was a still became a world champion, right ? :D So, he would have beaten at least some decent boxers. Kavinder Bisht also reached the QF at the world championships. So, he seems to have some pote...

Re: US Claycourt Challengers, April 2019

Yes, Sumit seems to be finally getting into some sort of form. At $54K+H Tallahassee Challenger 2019, Florida, USA [R2] Sumit Nagal (IND,344) vs. (10) Santiago Giraldo (ECU,202) Giraldo is a former top 30 player but that 5 years back. His current results have been up and down. He would be good on cl...

Re: East Asian Challengers, April-May 2019

Saki lost to the Chinese in first round. :-( [R1] Saketh Myneni (IND,247) l. Zhizhen Zhang (CHN,343) 46 46 This was the last chance for Saki to try to get into French open qualies. He needed to win a couple of matches here to make sure of that. He can still get in if he is very lucky. On the other h...

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread

True, in worst case scenario, of him losing everything from here on, he would be around 105-107 on July 15, the cut-off date for US open main draw.Just needs some 25-30 points from now till them to stay in top 100 at that time and confirm the main draw at US open.

Re: Ankita Raina thread

Ankita starts with an excellent upset win in the doubles.

At $125K WTA Anning (Clay)

[R1] Ankita Raina (IND) / Ashley Kratzer (USA) d. (4) Xinyyuiang (CHN) / Qianhui Tang (CHN)57 64 10-6

Will this spur Ankita on for an upset win in singles too against Sam Stosur !!
