Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Incredible. Pant and Gill were absolutely fantastic. Some silly, needlessly reckless batting at the end. Wonder if Ashwin will remind Paine about 'getting to the Gabba' comment

Just hope 4-5 sessions are washed out. Only hope to avoid a defeat

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Very interesting article about racism in Australia. https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/australia-vs-india-2020-21-nathan-lyon-mohammed-siraj-sets-new-standard-for-calling-out-abuse-1247630 Ed Cowans has stated the truth, unlike the usual nonsense Cricket Australia or their coaches or captains spew o...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Totally unexpected outcome. I was expecting a big loss. Vihari & Ashwin were the last hope as the tail were unlikely to last more than 5-10 overs. Thankfully, they held out. For the final test, our tail will be even weaker if Kuldeep replaces Jadeja. Just hope we win the toss, it's a decent batting ...

Re: BLM / Protests and looting / movement against racist monuments

Racism has never really gone away, but with so many right wing leaders around the world, the scum (racists) have become emboldened. In the UK, Churchill is revered by most (politicians, media and general public). Here's a prime example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy8Bt_V971o In Asia & Africa, w...

Re: Misc. news about Indian hockey

Some good news for women's hockey: http://stick2hockey.com/Article/Proposed-league-a-shot-in-the-arm-for-Indian-girls/15562.html This is the kind of league I've been hoping for. The HIL was too artificial and I just knew it wouldn't last. Let's hope this concept is permanent and can be expanded to s...

Re: Indian Women's Team thread ....

Painful, but totally expected thrashing. Soon as Australia won the semi final, I just knew we would get hammered.

Re: Indian Women's Team thread ....

Australia going to set us a huge target. 135-1 with 6 overs left. As I expected, this is not looking good.

Re: Indian Women's Team thread ....

Looks like Australia will be our opponents in the final. I was hoping for South Africa as we are less likely to choke against them :-(

Re: India in New Zealand 2020

Useless fools. Even worse garbage than I could have imagined. I'll be surprised if the last 4 wickets add more than 30 runs tomorrow. Maybe I'm being too optimistic.

Re: Indian Women's Team thread ....

Our women may have won first 3 matches of the T20 WC and are through to the semi finals.

In the last 2 matches, we batted poorly in the last 6-8 overs and ended up 15-20 runs short. Today NZ needed 34 off the last 2 overs and only just failed to do so.

Pathetic from Rahane and Vihari, this is the worst test played by India in a very long time now.
Agree. Garbage from day 1. Meek surrender from every single player, apart from Ishant & a bit from Rahane.

Re: FIH Men's Pro League 2020

Mandeep's picked up an ankle injury. His replacement, Gursahibjit seems to be equally weak. Our forwards looked poor in comparison to the Aussie ones. I don't think I the selectors will look beyond the current 5-6. Shame as Sumit Kumar, Arman Qureshi and Affan Youssef should have been tried in the P...

Re: FIH Men's Pro League 2020

More important than home advantage is the umpiring ;) The second match was a better show from us, but I feel we were lucky with a couple of the video referrals and penalty stroke miss (although, I don't think it was a PS at all!). Australia still seemed to cut through our midfield and defence too ea...

Re: FIH Men's Pro League 2020

Yes, we picked up 2 points by winning the shoot out. Another encouraging result. I'll try and watch the replay later post my thoughts. Going back to yesterday's defeat, I think we needed a bit more mobility in midfield to provide cover for our defenders. Sumit and Nilikanta seem to make a useful dif...
