Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

The match was lost in the first 15 overs. Ok we lost 3 quick wickets but the painfully slow run rate was pathetic. Even 2 singles per over could have got us 20-25 runs in that period of play, which could have made the difference in the final result. Rohit was brilliant. Without him we could have fol...

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Predictable garbage from Dhoni. What a joke. Can't even get singles off Lyon. Just hope he continues like this and even our blind selectors will have to drop him.

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Looks like a thrashing coming up as w are 4/3 in the 4th over. Rohit hasn't scored yet! Dhoni is likely to slow the scoring even more :-(

Re: Men's and Women's Hockey World Cups 2018

Tokyo 2020 is a write off (if we even qualify!) Expected stupidity from Batra and his cronies. We have wasted decades because of utterly useless idiots who have no interest in getting results. Who needs enemies when we have scum like this. How many coaches have we tried? No real improvement (apart f...

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Siddarth Kaul was appalling in the Asia. Surely there are better options than him.

Pleased to see the selectors making the right decision (for once) regarding Bumrah. If only they listened more to all of us on this forum ;)

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

I'd like to spare Bumrah from these ODIs. We need to keep him fit for test matches and only the really important ODIs. Going back to the debate regarding openers: Yes, our poor starts may have cost us the series but the real difference was the runs contributed by the lower order of the 2 teams. Curr...

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Start delayed by rain. That's frustrating. Hate giving up wins. Our silly decisions (by captains like Dhoni) or lunatic selections have cost enough opportunities in the past. In the past year, our biggest headache has been removing the last 3-4 opposition batsmen (conceding 100-150 is standard for u...

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

I think some of the lost time will be made up with an early start tomorrow and maybe on day 5 too. To get a result, we need to reverse our habit of messing up against the tailenders. Assuming we do that tomorrow, what would be a good 4th innings target? 450 off 110 overs?

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Winning the toss and Pujara's brilliance has put us in a great position.

We need to bat another 50-60 overs at least to secure the series. There's usually a later order collapse in most matches, incomplete contrast to the opposition batting, so getting 450 would be great.

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Now Ashwin is included in the final 13! A late call will be made on his fitness. So it's between Kuldeep, Umesh & Ashwin for the final slot. Kuldeep would be the best choice for taking wickets, while Ashwin would strengthen the tail. Umesh is just likely to ease any pressure built up by the other bo...

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Lower order frustrating us yet again. Cummins is the equivalent of Curran! Would be nice to finish it off today, but as I'm watching, expect lots of 4s....and Cummins obliges by getting three quick boundaries off the new ball. 9th wicket pair looking comfortable. I think bouncers are our best hope.

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Atithee » Fri Dec 28, 2018 6:49 am Is ssp watching? :p I followed the match for about 5 minutes. It was enough time for us to lose the wickets of Vihari & Pujara. :-( Silly not to enforce the follow on if the weather is going to reduce the time left in the match. Shouldn't be surprised given the nu...

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Typical. Just as I start following, a wicket is lost. Kohli was our best hope of accelerating the run rate. We are crawling ourselves to a draw, although a collapse is still possible ;)

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Unread post by sameerph » Tue Dec 25, 2018 4:56 am As per reports, Vihari is going to open alongside Mayank, Rohit at #6. A sensible choice within the XI picked but I too would have gone for Pandya and Bhuvi for Rohit and Ishant. My choice too, but it would be too sensible for the management. Besid...
