Re: Divij Sharan thread
Yes. To an extent. But, what is wrong/eeky with double partnering either (three-way-consensual, of course)? You're making me think, my friend - and that's quite an accomplishment. So thinking about it, i guess nothing eeky really. People play doubles, mixed doubles and even singles at Grand Slams ....

Re: Divij Sharan thread
Now if he partners Jamie Murray in doubles (just of tennis, not life  ) I can see the headlines "Sharan jeetne ke liye Murray". :-) What is eek (assuming that is the eek emoji) about them partnering in life? Just that double partnering in life would be an eek. That's all. Nothing more. If he h...

Sent them Paking.
11 Games, 0 Sets, and No Match.
The build up drama was way more interesting than the tie.
On to Croatia from Asia.
Which ic is going to itch the most?

Re: Davis Cup 2019 - India
A W is a W... but looks like the bad guys sent a couple of 4.5 rated club players. India could have played Jaideep Mukherjee, Ramanathan Krishnan, Nandan Bal and S. P. Misra and might have still won. Much less even need Vijay, Anand, Ashok, Sashi, or Ramesh. Ho hum...

Re: Davis Cup 2019 - India
I thought Borat was an attempt to expose through parody the ignorant American stereotyping of a country that most Americans did not know even existed. But, hey, if that spurred Kazakhstan to develop, especially tennis, that's great. I was unaware of how Kazakhstan courted out of favour players from ...

Re: Davis Cup 2019 - India
Kazakhstan is a very tennis-friendly place. At one time they had a crazy president who loved tennis and built courts all over. All of his officials were forced to play. Those who refused to play faced g An extra "g" as in gravitational force? Whoa! Whoa! Whee! Whoa! It was all to make benefit glori...

Re: Davis Cup 2019 - India
Hmm. Bad choice of dates to get married :-( That is not good to say about the one he is marrying, prasen. He must have picked her from a good set of choices to date :) Oh, I guess it was a bad choice of wording from you, and I assumed a "to" at the end :) :-) Well, if I put the "to" at the end, tha...

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
What an awesome achievement by Sumit! So far away ... alone ... playing in unfamiliar surroundings ... on a challenging surface ... against tough competition who are on familiar ground ... and winning the Challenger tournament! Great credit to the young man. I was unplugged for a few days and missed...

Re: Davis Cup 2019 - India
Is Leander Paes playing? Cuz if he is, by the time he's finished with the hapless Pakistanis, they would have renamed the place to Goan Heights!

Re: General Tennis Discussions
JIC—How is India any different than Eastern European nations, South American nations, even Russia and China in this? I don't know how India is different from those countries in terms of rewarding already successful players versus supporting promising young players - cuz I don't know about those cou...

Re: General Tennis Discussions
... it really sucks that you can be among the top 200 tennis players in the world and still struggle to make a living. And what sucks even more is that in India AFTER someone achieves success politicians and companies fall over each other fighting to give huge financial awards to the athlete. GVK s...
