Re: World Cup 2019

How very frustrating that they don't just play another super over. I hate the tiebreaker rules. Keep playing one over at a time until someone wins. Just like penalty kicks if they are tied after 5 apiece.

Re: World Cup 2019

This entire WC should have a rain asterisk. No more WC in England.

This is a legit surprising and excellent win for RamK. Here's hoping he's back to somewhere near peak form...

Re: World Cup 2019

Completely farcical. If you must play this format, at least have a reserve day for every game.

Re: World Cup 2019

Having a WC in England is a farce. We're going to see some semi finalist who only played 3-4 games.

Re: US Claycourt Challengers, April 2019

I was referring to the ones at River Oaks Club where they hold the US Clay Court every year.

There used to be (public) real red clay courts somewhere on Cape Cod but that's well over a decade ago. No idea if they are still around.

The USTA clay court nationals are actually held on these green clay courts.
Hmm - I don't think so, at least not if we're talking about the tournament here in Houston, which is red clay...

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020 projections

Is Srikanth really a no-hoper? With a good draw could he make a semifinal?

He has lost a step, and can't back pedal often enough to hit inside out forehands.
Great insight. It is a thing of inches, he's maybe 2-3% slower than at his best but that is enough to reduce the number of opportunities to hit the inside out.

Bala is parterning Erlich? Wow...can't believe this guy is still playing. He and Andy Ram were the first well known Israeli players (to me, at least). Pretty sure they were the first famous Israeli pair , but both Shlomo Glickstein & Amos Mansdorf were ranked in the top 25-30 in doubles as individu...

It's wonderful to see one of our guys actually *plan* a course of action. After years of being bewildered by everything Yuki and some of our other worthies do, this is welcome.

Completely agree. I have never understood all the outrage. If you don't want to be out, don't leave the crease early.
