Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Rather than things getting to head, I think there is a rather simple explanation. He simply lacks the conditioning to stand up to the rigors of back to back Test matches. Test cricket is known to take a toll on fast bowlers.

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

I don't understand this. Unless Thakur is injured, I don't see why Rahane did not give him the new ball.

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Bumrah is comfortably better than Hazlewood and the 2nd or 3rd best pacer in the world. Ishant has been as good as Hazlewood in the past 3-4 years in red ball cricket. I beg to differ; Bumrah does not get enough swing in helpful conditions and is not consistent enough on unhelpful tracks to be cons...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Yes Australian bowling is probably the best in the world at the moment. But the Indian batting is also looking pretty decent, and once we have Kohli and Jadeja back, just imagine the lineup: Rohit, Gill, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Jadeja, Pant and Ashwin, that's pretty good IMO. If we only get some dece...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Thakur looks the only way among our pacers likely to get wickets because of his bowling and not because of the batsmen's mistakes.

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

And I cannot blame them, our tail is simply so incompetent against this sort of bowling. You deserve better from at least your #7.

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

The plan against Indian tail is pretty simple. We need to work on it, that I think is the major reason why we are not #1.

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

How can Ashwin be an allrounder for so long and not know how to play short pitched balls? He is just a sitting duck and clearly unnerved. We need all of our tailenders to be able to survive this sort of bowling without getting hurt.

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

If they needed Vihari to bowl, he could have very well done so in the 2nd innings here.

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

I think Pant's promotion over Vihari means that Vihari is likely done, unless Vihari can come up with a match saving effort. Infact it could be his international career on the line.

By positively, I suppose you mean 4 runs in 38 balls

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020 projections

I don't understand NRAI's complex point system. My simple take is that the athlete who wins us the shooting quota should go on to represent the country in the Olympics, unless there is a very strong reason not to (like a complete loss in form, or injury). The reason is that the person achieved the q...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

On an easy pitch and with Australian batsmen not gifting away their wickets, this will be a real test for our bowlers and captaincy. I think both have fallen short so far. Rahane waited too long to bring on both Saini and Jaddu even though his frontline bowlers were not getting much, shows he doesn'...
