Re: Riya Bhatia thread
Final update: Siegemund wins 2-6 7-6(2) 6-1 Riya should draw a lot of confidence from this performance. The way she dominated Siegemund in the first set was especially impressive. The key was to hit deep. In the second set, her balls started landing in the middle of the court, allowing Siegemund to ...

Re: Riya Bhatia thread
So impressed with Riya! She absolutely steamrolled Laura Siegemund 6-2 in the first set :bounce: Siegemund could deal with neither her serves nor her returns. So many winners off her racquet! It's great to see her play such positive tennis and I hope she continues this in the next set of her WTA mai...

Re: Year End Women's ITF - Solapur/Pune/Navi Mumbai
I wonder if the ITF makes them schedule these events at this time to ensure that there are events available (since most other countries have more severe winters)?

Re: Year End Women's ITF - Solapur/Pune/Navi Mumbai
Ankita, Riya, Rutuja, Sowjanya, and Mahak have all pulled out of Pune. Last year, too, most of our top players had skipped some of these events.
It's ridiculous to have NOTHING throughout the year and then cram 5 events into 6 weeks at a time when most players have wound up their seasons.

There had been an MTO when Karman was down 1-4 in the second set. I'm not sure who took it, but I hope Karman's okay.

Re: W25 Gwalior (Nov 11-17) and Bhopal (Nov 18-25)
I continue to be impressed by Sowjanya. She always seemed to have the talent, but I guess it's her new-found confidence from winning the national championships that has suddenly spurred her on. Too bad that her next opponent is the only seed left. But let's hope she defeats her :-) Based on this sho...

Re: W25 Gwalior (Nov 11-17) and Bhopal (Nov 18-25)
Been following these events but did not get the time to post. Just a few thoughts: Rutuja seems to be in bad form, but her loss to Klaffner is not a big surprise. Melanie is an experienced veteran who's been ranked much higher in the past and has won several 25Ks before. I was far more disappointed ...

Re: US Open 2019
I'm really bummed out by the tough draws.
But from another perspective, every tennis pro dreams of playing the world's greatest players on tennis's grandest stages. And Prajnesh and Sumit are guaranteed an experience that they wouldn't get if they had faced unseeded players on court 11.

Sumit just won 7 games in a row!
He leads 57 64 30 - with a double break!!
57 64 40 now... he just needs to keep it together and he's through.

Re: US Open 2019
Great going for Sumit! Would love to see 2 Indian men in the main draw of a slam again.
