Re: Davis Cup 2011 - India
Nishikori had to retire hurt with a back injury from his first round match at the US Open. Go Soeda went down tamely to Kevin Anderson. Good news for us!

Re: India in England, Summer 2011
 The Indian team should go home citing security concerns amidst these riots that have been taking place across England...For once a country such as England or Australia who are constantly whining about security arrangements in South Asia should have to answer the same questions they always ask...

Re: Somdev Dev Varman ...
Actually, Chardy, Nalbandian and Hanescu have all fallen below Somdev in the live rankings, and so tomorrow Somdev will be back up to a career high #62! I really do wish Som had gone to Montreal. He would have been the second seed in the draw, would have received a bye into the final round of the qu...

Re: Somdev Dev Varman ...
Yes, he will next be in action at the Cincinnati Qualies. I kinda wish he was going to the Montreal qualies this weekend. He is only playing about 2 singles matches a week, so he can't be that tired. Then again, as an armchair analyst I don't know what goes into a players preparation both physically...

Re: At $1.17M Legg Mason Tennis Classic, Washington DC, USA
Shoot...Somdev was up 40-15 in that game and let Baghdatis back in it. Fought off two break points before succumbing on the third. Come on Som, pull it back 2-6 6-0 3-4 0-30 on MB's serve!!! COME ON! 30-30 :damn: 30-40 Break Point COME ON. Deuce :damn: Ad Baghdatis :oof: Deuce COME ON SOM COME ON YO...

Re: At $1.17M Legg Mason Tennis Classic, Washington DC, USA
Not sure. Maybe Somdev and Baggo mutually decided they'd rather play tomorrow? Or they wanted to have Harrison out there as the night match. Anyhow, just to clarify it was just the one game SDV and MB played today and Som lost serve. Yes Arjun I agree, a single break is not such a big deal. I was ju...

Re: At $1.17M Legg Mason Tennis Classic, Washington DC, USA
Also speaking of twitter---I just checked out Baghdatis' page. On March 13th, which is the day Somdev beat him in Indian Wells, he tweeted "Didn't hit a backhand for the past 5 days, my nail of the small finger grew into my skin... Tried to fight but couldn't do anything more." Interesting...

Re: At $1.17M Legg Mason Tennis Classic, Washington DC, USA
Yeah just called the tournament desk (I can't believe I just had to do this for an ATP 500 tournament!) and they said they're working on a schedule for tomorrow. The match is postponed. They guy I talked to clearly doesn't know as much as he should---he said the match didn't even start. But Somdev's...

Re: At $1.17M Legg Mason Tennis Classic, Washington DC, USA
Can't find a result anywhere. I think the match was delayed/postponed to tomorrow because of rain. I did see they had started though and that Baghdatis had broken Som to start the match

Re: At $1.17M Legg Mason Tennis Classic, Washington DC, USA
Somdev is on court and is making mincemeat of Gremalmayr. Up 3-0 early. I can't seem to find a link for this match, it may not be possible since it is out on Court 2. 4-0 Somdev breaks again 4-1 Somdev gets broken 4-2 Gremalmayr holds 5-2 Somdev holds with ease at love. Important hold. Seems to be s...

Re: Davis Cup 2011 - India
Somdev may have beaten Ito with ease in Atlanta...but Go Soeda won the challenger in Wuhai yesterday, taking him to #120. If you throw Sugita in the mix, they have three players to pick from to play the second singles. The rankings of their top four players (with career highs in parenthesis and head...

Re: Somdev Dev Varman ...
Kukushkin made the final in Astana so Somdev drops another spot. Harrison just lost in a final set tiebreaker to Fish. A Gulbis win tonight over Bogomolov will mean Somdev drops another spot. Gulbis is my pick to win the match and so like I said, Somdev will probably be at #65 on Monday.
