Re: ITF Women China- $60K Luan (May 7), $25K Wuhan (May 14)

Okay, so one more of our younger ladies showing a bit of a spark. Need to take several more steps, but Rutuja is on the right track. Though she didn't set college tennis on fire or anything, the time at Texas A&M has certainly helped her. Apparently she added a backhand slice to her repertoire last ...

I wonder how she still manages to get partners!
I have wondered the same thing for a while. Don't the partners look at how badly she has been doing for quite a while? She should take a break and try to figure out what is causing all these losses.

Re: Yuki Bhambri

Looks like that didn't go as planned... at all. Yuki lost 46 36. I was in and out and only saw a few points here and there. Yuki was making so many unforced errors, hurrying the shots, hitting into the net and all kinds of mess. What the heck was going on, I don't know! Probably ate some some bad st...

Re: Indian Junior football

Our u16 team won a 4-nation event in Serbia. Seems like this was against egular u16 teams from Serbia, Tajikistan and Jordan. Not bad at all... India U16s shine in Serbia! They will be playing the Asian qualifiers this year, trying to make it to the Semifinals in Asia and qualify for the world u16 n...

Re: Indian Clubs news

Here is a very detailed 10-part news-opinion piece on a FIFA-AFC report (after a one year study) that tells AIFF what to do with the two league system and how to combine and form a single league in about a 4 years time. Well, the AIFF was trying to say that there was no such report, but the report g...

Re: Yuki Bhambri

Oh, I hadn't checked, to know that the KAR election results were coming out. That's pretty good, but I bet you never predicted the Trump win in the US either... So Yuki's gamble of not playing the Gimcheon Challenger (for a gamble it surely was) has paid off perfectly. Plus he got one more week of r...

Re: Yuki Bhambri

Yeah, this is a dogfight, basically. Neither of them able to dominate the other, based on the scoreboard. 74 points to YN and 71 points to YB after two sets. Wish we had a live stream. I hope Yuiki has more left in the tank for the third set.... After wasting three BPs from 30-40, finally Yuki broke...

Re: Yuki Bhambri

Yuki was a down a mini at 2-4, but won 4 of the next 5 points for a 6-5 set point. Nishioka saved one one Yuki's serve but Yuki won the next two to win the set. Good job winning 6 of 8 points in the end there. On to the third set after 1 hour 35 minutes... 3-6, 6-7(6), 0-0

Re: Football: Indian National Team news ...

Looks like our next activity is an Intercontinental Cup at Mumbai starting on June 1st. #113 Kenya, #133 New Zealand and #121 Chinese Taipei are the teams along with us at #97. They are good teams and we could probably lose to all three or win against a couple of them. I don't think we will win agai...

Re: AFC Asian Cup - 2019 UAE

Jaydeep had posted this under a wrong thread (of the clubs' Asian Cup thread). I split it and made it a separate thread. India returns to Asian Cup after not making it in for the 2015 edition. We were there for the 2011 edition, where we made it in with a lot of luck and a qualifying tournament in I...

Re: ITF Women China- $60K Luan (May 7), $25K Wuhan (May 14)

Ankita really played a poor tiebreaker, after being up a minibreak early. I think she lost 6 of the last 7 points to lose the third set tiebreaker 3-7. Missed some shots unnecessarily and gave it away. Oh well.

Ouch. Did I hear it right, when Ankita said "are you f-----g blind or what?" to the ump? ... she needs to watch her words. 5-4 on serve in the 3rd.

Re: African ITF Series April-May 2018 ( Nigeria,Uganda)

No fireworks so far by our Indians in Uganda today... The Kiwindian upset VSK and Jayesh lost a close match. [R2] Kunal Anand (IND,1167) l. (1) Ivan Nedelko (RUS,273), 64 63 [R2] Jayesh Pungliya (IND,1080) l. Darko Bojanovic (BIH,1132), 46 76(4) 57 [R2] Vinayak Sharma Kaza (IND,1160) l. (WC) Ajeet R...
