Re: Yuki Bhambri

Haha. And you forgot the biggest classic: stealing a pair of socks from a departmental store, or standing silent and allowing the piddly island's racists get away with that allegation on a poor guy.

Re: Yuki Bhambri

Good stuff, rajitghosh... Mostly all correct. Anand has been accused of drinking beer (only as Davis cup captain, I think).. Additional names are there for some of the activities. Charity event for former players - the one I had in mind was Mahesh, who helped do it for Premjit Lall (we even raised s...

Re: Yuki Bhambri

I had given up a long time ago on keeping any expectations of what Yuki might do in his career. The only thing I know is that he is always focusing on practice or rehab -- meaning, we don't ever hear of him wasting time on anything else. But his scheduling has always been crazy and I have never figu...

Re: Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha thread

Here is a good quality video of a match from late 2016. It's a 2 hour 40 min match between Niki and Evan Song, that Niki lost in the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAF2N72bopg

Re: Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha thread

Here is the Times of India story - Poonacha makes breakthrough with maiden singles title Born and raised in Neyveli, TN (with Dad from Kodagu and Mom from Andhra). He was also once in Spain but had been out for a long time due to an abdominal tear, and again down with an injury last year as he was c...

Re: Pre-US Open Challengers, July-August 2018

Yeah, that was a 29-shot rally. It was funny to see the ump calling "Game, set and match" the moment the final shot left Aragone's racket, on the way to the net. Frankly, Prajnesh was really asking for trouble, hitting at least three shots dangerously short, but the other guy was timid enough not to...

I was itching to say "don't count the chickens.." the last couple of days, but didn't have the heart to kill your excitement, ssp. I too feel terrible. Oh well. This kind of stuff just happens to us. It always does.

Leander is down to 80 now.
I get the feeling that the Asiad is pretty much the end for LP. I hope he gets a medal and calls it a day. Who woulda thunk back at the 1990 Asiad that Lee would be at the 2018 Asiad? Amazing.

Yes, doubles is certainly Arjun's thing. He is quite unpredictable in singles.
