Re: Ankita Raina thread
Ankita is playing doubles with Snehal Mane this week, which surprised me. They just won the first round at the Lopota W50, Christine Gouws (RSA) and Georgia Kalamaris (FRA) in a dominating fashion too, 61 61. Actually Ankita and Snehal had played doubles together once, over 4 years ago at the Jodhpu...

[Q2] (8) Rutuja Bhosale (IND,364) l. (13) Thasaporn Naklo (THA,397), 64 46 26
This was a bad loss, even money-wise, this being a W100 event.

Re: Ankita Raina thread
Time for Ankita to focus on doubles. There is really no point in playing singles, unless things improve fairly quickly, like in a month or two. If not, quit and save your body for 3-4 (or more) years of good doubles.

I certainly celebrate top-8 at Olympics. In fact, I was keeping a count of the number of top-8 finishes at the last few Olympics, as it is a better measure of overall improvement in sports for India.

Re: Manas Dhamne thread
His drop shots amazed me the most! Perhaps more so because I have not seen many Indians do it well enough on the circuit. Same here. "Not many" is quite gracious. In fact, no other Indian hits drop shots well at all. Manas is the only one I have seen doing it well consistently. Amazing. H...
