Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
I am sure the ankle issue will go away. Off court niggles like slipping on a staircase etc cause only simpler damage and usually nothing of longer-term effect. I am surprised it has taken a week now to go away, but it should go away. But many parts of his game looked better, to me, than they did las...

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
^^ Forgot to mention above that his double-fisted backhand down the line shot made a rare appearance today. In fact he forced his break point at 3-4 in the second set with that shot. Was great to see. Actually he had hit a really good one-handed backhand before that too, and he was quite successful ...

At the Guangzhou Challener 75, China (Hard) [Q1] Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,356) l. (6) Ricardo Berankis (LTU,339), 26 63 16 Actually Ramk has an ankle injury that was the main reason for the Q1 loss last week and this week (and of course RamK never helps himself either)... I am told he had slipped on...

Re: Indian Archery Thread ...
If we get the 2036 Olympics, I am sure we will have it there. But by then everybody else will be much better and we may not be the odds-on favorites anymore

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
A nice interview by Nikhil Naz that just came up a few hours ago. I loved it. It seems to be from this week, after he decided to skip the next couple of weeks. He did not say he was going to Germany, but he was still waiting for the passport to come from the UK embassy/HC but said "maybe Rome; ...

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
^^ He must have been injured. So I was wondering if his physique had improved. He always looked like he could put on another 5 kg and get a little stronger. But there was this below picture from ITD last week, which seems to show that he has become more muscular... Hopefully the legs have got strong...

Karan Singh now goes to Monastir for the next few weeks. Not sure where others are going... Not too many places to play at now.

Tough loss for Dev at the Shymkent M15 in KAZ. [QF] (Q) Dev Javia (IND,1377) l. (5) Vladyslav Orlov (UKR,651), 46 61 67(4) Actually, Dev won more points than Orlov (100 to 96). It was back and forth all match, except for a brief period in the second set when Orlov was under duress. In the third set,...

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
^^^ I don't know if this is the case, but I agree that it makes the most sense, and probably that is the only guess that makes any sense. He perhaps wants to see if whatever discomfort he felt heals fully, then try hitting with some good players at the Nensel Academy, get some good massages and all ...

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
^^^ Sanjay, it is probably a physical issue that he is monitoring. He probably doesn't want to talk about it, so let us also not talk about it till he tells us what the deal is. My guess is that he is week-to-week right now, and monitoring some issue. He probably felt that he should see his physios ...

Arnav Paparkar, 3rd seed, is in the semis at the J60 in Doha - which also seems to have a slightly better field than normal J60s. The top 2 seeds got upset early.

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
The J200 in KL seem to have an even tougher field than this J300 though. around 6 top-100 player each in the two entry lists. One of the toughest J200s I have seen in Asia! Hitesh and Penn Charusorn (THA) are in the doubles QF with 2 wins and an upset of the 7th seeds, and face 4th Rethin and Kriish...
