Re: Football: Indian National Team news ...
Yeah thats a good question about which matches count and which do not. My hunch is that qualifiers for world cup, olympics, etc do not count and its other friendlies that need to be scheduled in addition to these. In any case, I think they are making some effort to schedule better matches (e.g., the...

Re: Football: Indian National Team news ...
easiest way to reach chris/arunava is on twitter...they check it a lot more...and respond quicker https://twitter.com/#!/Arunfoot https://twitter.com/#!/CPDaniel Anyways while Jay's strategy is optimal in terms of ranking strategy its not realistic since the AIFF is contracted by their sponsor Panas...

Re: I-league 2010-11
India actually has some solid talent coming up the ranks....Robin Singh is also very good as a striker, but hasn't played much for the senior team...In terms of the midfield, Jewel Raja, Shilton D'Silva (only 18), and Jibon Singh are all talented. This doesn't even include some of the older youngste...

Re: AFC Challenge Cup 2012 Qualifier, Petaling Jaya, Malaysi
We are not ranked high enough to get direct entry into the Asian Cup which just concluded. The winner of this tournament will get entry into the Asian Cup.

Re: Hello All
Yeah still friends with Neha. I think she is done with tennis unless things change dramatically, don't really want to comment on why other than that the grind of the tour got to be too much for her.
She is back at Princeton and having a great time though.

Re: Hello All
Thanks guys, good to be back. Unfortunately, got the rejection from Darden a couple weeks ago. But I've interviewed at Kellogg, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (Ross), UT-Austin (McCombs) and am waiting to hear from Georgetown and Carnegie Mellon, so we'll see what happens. One thing I tremendous...

Hello All
Wow, it has been two years since my last post and a lot has happend. This forum was a mainstay in my life growing up as a teenager and then through college. I have fond memories of multiple tennis discussions and debates. Somehow over time I got busy and lost touch. I just wanted to drop a quick not...

Re: Doc's Near Death Experience
I have not posted or visited this forum in some time. But I just happend to learn this extremely sad news through another source and was stunned. Dr. Bhushan Sharma was one of the nicest people I have never met. Having been a part of this forum for a long time from high school to now as an adult in ...

Re: India national team (plays Malaysia Jul 22nd)
we have 4 prescheduled matches for 2009. It doesn't seem like the AIFF will be organizing any other friendlies for the rest of the year (in my view 1 or 2 more friendlies in Nov or so would would be nice). I hope they take active interest to organize a good 6-8 additional matches to the 4 schedule...

Re: India national team (plays Malaysia Jul 22nd)
Does anyone know what the upcoming international schedule for India is in the next year or so? One of the most annoying things about the AIFF is they never clearly communicate what the plans for an upcoming 12 months so people are just left guessing.

Re: AFC Challenge Cup Football Championship, Hyderabad, India - July 30 to August 10
From what I heard we will still be playing Asian Cup Qualifiers as friendlies so that's good. But I hope they begin to schedule friendlies against slightly stronger teams. If we are going to make any noise in the Asian Cup we need to start playing teams a bit better to get ready for the level of q...

Re: AFC Challenge Cup Football Championship, Hyderabad, India - July 30 to August 10
The good thing is we have a solid 3 years to prepare for this. Hopefully the idiots at AIFF don't mess everything up by getting rid of Houghton. We need a stable management structure and improved investment in infrastructure, training, as well as exposure to a lot of friendlies to improve. I will...

LETS WIN THIS THING AND GET READY FOR THE BIG BOYS IN 2011!!!
The way our U16 players are playing some of them should be ready to contribute then, especially a guy like Malsawmfela, we need another goal scoring machine to replace Bhaichung!
