Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

So, now, Suryavanshi's shots connected in this inning. What a inning by a 14 year old boy!!! If he can be consistent, are we looking at a prodigy? Hope he goes the SRT way and not the VK way ...

Re: Indo-Pak issues, terrorism, Kashmir, etc.

Jay, you do not have to starve them at one go. You can say that we will cut off 5% or 10% of the water every year unless the terrorist network is dismantled.

I think the problem is that Pakistani government or the military itself does not have control over these terrorist groups. They keep striking ...

Re: Indo-Pak issues, terrorism, Kashmir, etc.

There are lots of things we can do. For example, we can say that we won't play Pakistan in cricket. ICC has to choose. If they want to ban us, we can create our own cricket body and pay players to play in a Packer-type league. Any player playing in the Pakistani league will not be given IPL ...

Re: Indo-Pak issues, terrorism, Kashmir, etc.

One can always give notice publicly. But, we can announce a time after which we will not adhere to it, need to renegotiate it, etc. The World Bank is the one who is the arbiter. We cannot cut off our nose to spite it. So, we should play as much hardball as we can without jeopardizing our own WB ...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Suryavanshi played a very slow innings. If he was indeed trying to hit every ball, he must be a bad hitter. Apart from Jaiswal and Parag, the others were a tad too slow. Shivam hit out but he had the other problem of getting out too soon. Parag too got out in 10 balls. You need someone who can score ...

Re: India fires Brahmos Supersonic missile into Pak(accidentally!!)

No posts on the Pahalgam massacre yet? Very sad to see it unfold. The region is on tenterhooks. While there is no evidence of Pakistani involvement, it is hard to imagine how they cannot be involved in some way even if not directly unless one subscribes to “wag the dog” type of conspiracy.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Impact/Match XI for this IPL (Indian):

Kuldeep, Sai Sudarshan, PK, KL Rahul, Priyansh Arya, Siraj, Arshdeep, Gill, Bhuvi, Digvesh Rathi.

That already has five bowlers. So, the next bowler Harshal Patel does not make it. The next batter is Yashasvi. Khaleel Ahmed and Sai Kishore are also skipped ...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

Brain fade. Yes, Russell. Obviously, I do not have any power to drop anyone in any team. So, strictly speaking it should be "they". As in the KKR brainstrust. I am a mild supporter of KKR just because it has the Kolkata name. I do not watch any games or follow the team closely.

Indians fan-worship ...

Re: Indian Super League

I hate quotas. We should have as many foreign players as possible in the XI our football leagues but we need a protectionist clause that says that every team should start an Indian striker and play them say on the average 60% of the game ... or something like that.

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

I must admit I haven't watched a single IPL match on TV from start to finish this year. Only occasionally watched even replays. But noticeably, the bowlers have done a lot better after the first week or so, in which the batsmen were totally dominant. KKR has been complaining about pitches at the ...
