Re: World Test Championship final 2021-23 (The Oval)
SKY because of being star in T20I & IPL is in the team SkAY is not in the team. Nor in the standby. Now whether it can happen or not in the future I do not know. There is no doubt about your major point. IPL is used stupidly to choose the test team and that is why we have debacles like the SkAY...

Re: ATP Tennis/Non-India Davis Cup
Wild French Open. Meaning Wild defeated Medvedev #2 seed after coming in as a qualifier. The others: Alcaraz-Tsitsipas, Djokovic-Rublev, Rune-Ruud, and Sinner-Coric are the seeds lining up for the quarters. Of course, most possibly all will not make it. Let us see. Alcaraz-Djokovic semis will decide...

Only in one case it may be advisable. If you are hurt and need just immediate rest and cannot go, then. If your foot will be aggraved even by walking or rib or whatever. Or mentally, if you cannot absolutely even stand there anymore for whatever reason (typically, anxiety/panic attack, depression re...

Re: World Test Championship final 2021-23 (The Oval)
Standby players played Gabba test and won the game. There is no rule that travelling reserves/ stand by can't play. Your guy is not even on standby. The ICC has some rules about those in the 15 announced team playing but they may allow replacements when there are genuine, doctor-certified injuries....

Now that the IPL is finally over, using the impact/match with a qualifying of 7-8 matches below which the stat does not stabilize, here are the impact players: Gill, Yashasvi, Siraj, Axar, RJ, Shami, SkAY, Piyush, Rutu, Kohli, NTTV, Varun Obviously, as Kumar pointed out, this is skewed towards opene...

Re: ITF Women La Marsa Tunisia W25, W40, May 29- June 11, 2023
Thanks for the explanation. Are there matches where she does not serve as many DFs? How do the points won on 2nd serve look like in those matches vs this? I know I am being pedantic. But, would be interesting to see if she tries to do more on her 2nd serve when she is losing more points off it or no...

How many aces? What % of first serve points and second serve points did she win? The idea is that if you are getting enough aces and getting first serve points, then taking the risk to hit a better second serve even knowing that some will result in double faults may be okay.

Mine is running fine. There is the piddly issue of being in the team and being in the standby and getting a visa to the U.K., etc. that takes time. We have not managed to implement teleportation of humans and free movement of people across borders yet.

Re: World Test Championship final 2021-23 (The Oval)
From the squad, my team is: Rohit, Jaiswal (leftie), Pujara, Kohli, Gill, Bharat, Ashwin, Jadeja, Shami, Siraj, Umesh. No Rahane, essentially. It’s time to throw both Gill and Jaiswal into the mix. Ashwin MUST play. Tempted to play Shardul in place of Siraj because Thakur has shown he can bat, but ...

Re: World Test Championship final 2021-23 (The Oval)
Kumar, actually on subcontinental pitches, we need Bharat. Keeping to spinners requires much more skill than to keepers. That is why for a while we played Pant abroad and Saha in India. Then Pant got better and Dravid thought players don't get injured anymore. BTW, did Saha remember to thank Dravid ...
