But, he will be magically fit when the international matches come around. Kohli should be dropped from test cricket.

Re: Neeraj Chopra, India's first athletics gold medalist

I will take the next gen javeline thrower who wins an Olympic Gold over a tennis player. :-) If the next gen actually plays tennis, I think the kid will have a good serve ...

Re: ICC Champions Trophy 2025

You cannot win just based on batterw with 5 #11s. Our pacers cannot bat except Hardik. So, all our spinners must bat. At least two #11s will play. Every team that won a ODI tournament at the world level had people who can bat up until #8 at least, some until #10 or #11. It is stupid to think of batt...

Re: Indian domestic cricket/ players

The selectors should do what is good for India. Check out if the issues are real and due to bad attitude by the player or a petty power struggle with the board. Anyway, Kohli has now a neck issue for which he is taking injections. Thus, he cannot play for Delhi. I am assuming he needs to go to Londo...

Re: Indian domestic cricket/ players

I am rooting for Nair. He was unfairly dropped because he was a threat to the established guard. Taken to England and then never given a game if I remember correctly. Then, dropped. Hope he has his day! Why exactly is KL Rahul not playing in VHT? The BCCI should lay down some rules about how many da...

Underperformance on home ground. Ankita and Shravalli were rusty. Not using this as an excuse. They should get ready and going when they play. Less said about KKT the better.

Re: ITF Series: W50 Delhi, W100 Bengaluru, W75 Pune, Jan 2025

Terrible tournament for us except Riya Bhatia. By rankings, Ankita and Shrivalli should have won. But, rankings are rankings. Riya is the only one left now except I think one more match involving a lower ranked player later on whom perhaps we should not let our hopes ride.

Thandi lost 4-6, 1-6 to Udvardy.

Shrivalli lost the first set 1-6. :-( Second set 3-3.

Re: ITF Series: W50 Delhi, W100 Bengaluru, W75 Pune, Jan 2025

Ankita lost 1-6, 3-6 to L. Samson. Ankita lost to a lower ranked opponent and Riya recovered that loss. So, we are even-steven. Shrivalli is the other one favored by ranking to win. Vaidehi one set and I think a break down in the second set. Vaidehi breaks back and is 3-4 serving. Needs to hold serv...

Re: Indian domestic cricket/ players

Gill, Pant, etc. have made themselves available for Ranjis. Delhi has said they have not heard from Kohli and while Rohit practised with the Mumbai squad, it is not clear if he will be playing Ranjis either. If Rohit and Kohli do not play in Ranji Trophy, they should not be in the national test team...

Re: England in India LOI Series 2025

I think T20I and ODIs have different needs. You need a bit more striking power in ODIs. Bishnoi is pretty good in T20Is. I don't know how effective he will be in ODIs. Same for Varun. In ODIs, almost all of our spinners have to be able to bat or be devastating, i.e., wicket-takers while keeping the ...

Right. If voting for peace against military might is leftist, then I am leftist. I am not brainwashed by any narrative. If you have a plausible path to this fancy situation you are concocting, then provide the logic. Why exactly is the U.S. dollar suddenly going to catapult? Actually, hoping for the...

Lost the second set and a very hard fought win in the third. She won 7-5. Wow! Riya Bhatia. :notworthy:

And, dedicates it to Atithee (and Sameer). :-) 27 year old Riya is not a youngster. So, it seems Atithee did not expect an upset win from her.

Re: Your opinion on dedollarisation

Magic. Happens for no rhyme or reason. Russia, the U.S., etc. could not take and hold on to Afghanistan but somehow magically we will take POK without any bloodshed and all will be hunky dory. We can take POK by force perhaps against Pakistan and I doubt that the U.S. will come to help Pakistan dire...
