Re: Yuki Bhambri

Yuki's Instagram stories showed him training with Vijayant Malik in RK Khanna Stadium (Harc courts). Are there no clay courts in Delhi to prepare for the French Open? :-~ Yuki on French clay - i don't see him change his game much - if anything he will have to find ways to shorten the points anyway ...

Re: Asian Challengers - April 2018

PG down 5-6 just got broken again. Too many double faults from PG 6 already vs 0 from Safwat. Also PG is unable to serve aces at will, or at least a tough first serve when needed. There is a slight flaw in his wind up that was very difficult for me to spot which i think is what is preventing him fro...

Re: Asian Challengers - April 2018

Precisely on the eve on Ram making the Final at Talahasse, Prajnesh makes it the 7th Challenger Final by an Indian. Probably this is a first in Indian Tennis History for 7 Challenger Finals by Indians in one calender year Wow this is great news to wake up to. Problems with. Livestream last night an...

Re: Asian Challengers - April 2018

In the Race rankings, Yuki is still (surprisingly) at a rather high 35, Ramkumar is 100, Sumit is 156, Prajnesh is 191, Arjun is 246, VSP is 323, Mukund is 325 and Saketh is 334. FOUR Indians in the top-200. Surely the most fertile period for Indian tennis since the heyday of the 1980s. Seven India...

Re: US Challengers, 2018

LOL! Jaydeep, Sathi Reddy used to be a part of Hawaii Pacific University but he never had any big success and I fail to understand how he reaps these wildcard benefits as he also played in the Nottingham CH last year receiving a qualifying WC losing 0-6 0-6 to a British player. In my playing...

Re: Asian Challengers - April 2018

RamK is in a barnburner, at 46 62 22... He was up a break and just got broken back. But RamK breaks him again at 30-40. Now 3-2 up a break and serving in the 3rd set. And he is up 4-2. They both hold and it is 5-3. Yibing is hardly able to win any points on RamK's serve. Now he can't take a point o...

Wow great to wake up to see Yuki win his match. :D

Like Jay says we have been waiting for a long time (too long!).

RamK vs Yuki...may the best man on that day win ! For once I will be cheering both of them on their winning points.

Re: Asian Challengers - April 2018

Agree with jay....the serve is working well for him and he is barely able to stay ahead. There is no pressure being put on soeda serve games - he gets to 4-2 0-30 and he is still taking second serves from 6 ft behind the baseline!! Mindnumbingly frustrating to watch for a guy like me, who used to st...

First set to RamK 7-6(11-9). :D but his returning is not at the level it needs to be to make it easier on himself.

And there was this tribute on the ATP website as well: https://www.atpworldtour.com/en/news/atp-heritage-paes-750-match-wins-tribute That's a great tribute article. More importantly, he is not that far from getting past mirnyi and Todd Woodbridge to the number 3 position in the total number of doub...

Re: Davis Cup 2018 - India

Agree with Prashant. At the WG level, the most likely result for RamK is 0 wins with some chance of 1 win and very low probability of 2 wins. Yuki has a higher probability of getting 1 win but 2 wins would also be quite a stretch for him as well. Of course, if they improve further during the year t...

What great news to wake up to... :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Somehow in the back of my mind I had the feeling that Paes will be pumped up for the doubles...after all the record was at stake. I am sure that the inspired performance from Lee/Bops got RamK and the Gunman fired up. Great decisio...

Re: $15,000 Manama Women's ITF, Bahrain

Agree it is the advisers (and family) who are to blame for the bad advice. But most tennis associations take a massive talent like Mihika under their wing and nurture them through these years. Our prodigies are on their own, so it is down to the quality of advice and planning the parents can come u...
