Re: China/Korea Challengers July-August 2018

Wonderful win for Sid , as not only he was facing a much higher ranked opponent , but it is always a tough match to face a Korean on home soil and to overcome these odds is truly commendable. Arjun sadly bows out in a close 3 setter and ran the former World #95 so close and must be rueing those wast...

Re: Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha thread

Nikki until last year was pedalling his wares as a coach to probably augment his finances. https://www.orangecoach.com/employers/resume/view/17832-niki-kaliyanda-poonacha But now with this wonderful win , he can leave those days behind and plan his career to reach greater heights , one which he is c...

Re: China/Korea Challengers July-August 2018

At 5-4 Arjun breaks the 3rd seed Bublik to take the opening set 6-4 , Sid too broke his much higher ranked Korean opponent to take a 6-5 lead at which point the Korean took a MTO whereby upsetting his momentum and after a long game which went to few deuces , thankfully held on to take the opening fi...

What is a full Greek?

This was in response to an earlier reference to Kyrgios been referred to having mixed ethnic parentage and that Tsitsipas has  a similar background like Kyrgios when it comes to his parents ethnicity.

Re: Pre-US Open Challengers, July-August 2018

Like Kyrgios , Tsitsipas is not a full Greek , with his mother being Russian , and all the sporting genes seem to coming from his mother side , as his mother was a WTA player, and his maternal grandfather was an Olympic medallist in Football while playing for the erstwhile Soviet Union. And Tsitsipa...

Re: Pre-US Open Challengers, July-August 2018

PG was set and up a break early in the second but unfortunately could not sustain.
Ultimately Karkhanis(a typical Maharastrian surname :D ) experience proved decisive.

Re: Yuki Bhambri

Yes a combination of Steroids+AntiInflammatory does the job ,
Had a nasty Golf elbow could not even lift a raquet at times, but this combination prescribed by my orthopaedic and a lighter raquet did the job , and now can play tennis , albeit with a gel filled elbow support.

Re: Pre-US Open Challengers, July-August 2018

A slow start for Prajnesh against USC player, Holt ... But after losing the first set Prajnesh recovered for winning next two sets ... This slow start I feel is a part of set piece routine which PG employs not frequently but intermittently , in a match he feels he is confident of wining or to adopt...

Re: China Challengers July-August 2018

Arjun takes the first set and at 5-6 down in the TB played a terrific point under pressure and after trading over 10 shots which could have gone either way , went on to level it at 6 all and eventually take the first set. Hope he can finish it off in straight sets

And Manish scripts a fine comeback win , to record a famous victory on his 3rd match point to prevail 0-6,6-2,6-4 By far the best win of his fledgling career , as Statham with 2 challenger titles to his name is a crafty experienced tour veteran and the mainstay of the NZ Davis Cup team. Marvellous !...

Re: Saketh Myneni Thread

That's a tough opening round, but hopefully Saki has now settled down after the journey from Central Asia and would be able to turn the tables.
