Re: Indians in US College Tennis
Team rankings change quite a bit in college tennis. Kids graduate, coaches change and the transfer portal makes it easy for good players to leave if they are unhappy. Florida was so high a year ago and after Bryan Shelton left, they are no longer ranked high. The extra year Covid requirement eligibi...

Re: 19th Asian games India medal tally
Thanks, Sameer. Sorry, don’t mean to pollute this thread but is there another page where you are tracking Olympic level performances. I recall you guys used to track top-8 finishes separately in some of the previous Olympics… [ No pages this time, I think, but it has been mentioned a few times in th...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
So, we do not have an Asian closed juniors J300 this year in India, huh? :( ... Those like Manas and Shruti will see their rankings drop steeply in a couple of weeks, a year after their titles at the Pune GB1 last year in mid-September. It looks like the two Asian (closed) Junior events are at Wanc...

Sameer, no points for winning matches in qualies unfortunately. Good wins though that can boost his UTR but no ranking points.

Re: Mukund Sasikumar thread
Good win for Mukund. I was expecting a closer match! Zheng plays for Columbia and had a really good Freshman year. Also, Wimby didn’t award any points last year otherwise he would have been top 10 in juniors for reaching the finals.

Manas won his first round easily against a WC at J200 Salsomaggiore. Hoping he goes deep here. These points won’t count for FO but should help him for Wimby.

I believe if you commit to staying at the resort in Tunisia for a few weeks, you can get a wild card.

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
Rohan had a tough time finishing his volleys. He set himself up well in the point most of the time but couldn’t finish. Something he needs to keep working on. He was serving 5-4 (40-30) but lost the point and lost the deuce game and then the set. Connor is beatable and doesn’t really play like the o...

Anya should make French. She has good sporting genes Her mom was a track and field athlete in India and her dad ran too. I was chatting with her yesterday and she said both of them ran multiple marathons including the tough Marine Corps one in DC.

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
The Canadians are really good on indoor hard surface. Most American kids don’t play indoors much. The ones who play indoors in the winter (including us in the north east) play in a bubble, which is very different than playing inside a structure. Not making excuses for American kids but one of the ki...

Krisha Mahendran (IND,290) and Aditya Govila (IND,250) are at the J200 in Woodbridge, on the outskirts of Toronto, CAN. Both play singles R1 there today. Adi lost and Krisha won. Rohan lost too. He practiced with Adi these past couple of days. Been having a string of first round losses but he’s bee...
