Ankita, Karman, Riya, Rutuja are in the main draw acceptance list. Vaidehi, Shrivalli Rashmikaa, Jennifer Luikham, Humera, and 4 more Indian players are in the qualifying entry list. Good to see Karman making a comeback from another one of her injury breaks. Hope she gets some easy opening round mat...

Re: [Tennis] Misc. Results for Indians abroad...

Sharmada Balu is having a successful week of the year (perhaps, her career?) reaching the semifinals of the W60 Pelham ITF in Alabama. With her Russian partner, Maria Kononova, she upset the second seeded team in the opening round and came back from a big loss to seal a 3-set QF win yesterday. The S...

Re: Salinas $80K Challenger, Ecuador (Apr 4-10)

Worst possible draw for our players in doubles. Top seeds Jeevan/Ramkumar face Yuki/Saketh in the opening round. Ramkumar plays JC Aragone in the singles main draw.

Interestingly, Saketh and Jeevan (unranked) signed up as alternates to play in the qualification draw, but Yuki’s name is not there.

Ankita won her second round match beating Han 6-3 6-4. I watched the match and she was flawless and full of positive energy despite the weather being a bit windy. She will face Sowjanya’s conqueror for a place in the semifinals. :goodluck:

Except, Arjun and Marco are not first-time partners and already have a title to their names winning the Forli challenger earlier this year.

Salinas $80K Challenger, Ecuador (Apr 4-10)

Ramkumar is in the Singles MD entry list. Mukund is in the qualifying list. Yuki and Saketh are in the Doubles MD entry list. Tournament will be played on hard courts. This is a one-off tournament in Ecuador, so I’m hoping some of these players will travel to Mexico or the US for the successive week...

Ankita won her second round match in straight sets. 7-5 6-3. Good job against a talented Aussie who had a win against Qiang Wang earlier this year.

And, Sowjanya got thrashed by the Japanese player 6-0 6-1 :damn:
