Rutuja was leading 4-2 in the 3rd set :damn: [R2] (6) Rutuja Bhosale (IND,462) 3-6 6-2 4-6 (Q) Solymar Colling (USA,1023) I will continue to say players like Rutuja should turn to full-time doubles once they reach a certain age/ceiling. At 28, never having cracked the top-300, her aspirations perhap...

Re: ITF 3xW35 Series - California, USA, Sep/Nov, 2024
Sahaja is serving for the match against Makenna at 7-6 3-6 5-2. I just started watching from the last game when she broke Makenna’s serve with some fearless forehand shots. Hope she holds her serve to move to QF. edit: she has done it. I don’t know what went on in the second set and based on the mat...

Sahaja won in straight sets. She’s facing a tougher R2 opponent in Makenna Jones who rose to a brief fame last year when she starting winning in the US ITF circuit but it seems though she’s making a comeback after an injury or something as this is only her 2nd tournament for the year.

Re: AITA Fenesta Nationals
Maaya had entered to play in the W15 Mysuru next week; that explains why she chose to stay home (after having competed in a few junior tournaments abroad as we tracked), but now she has withdrawn from there. She seems to be an exceptional talent and have the right team involved behind as I keep seei...

Looks like Jay forgot to check on Tanisha this week, particularly when her form seems to have returned a bit :D W15 Monastir, Tunisia: R1 Tanisha Kashyap (1190) 4-6 6-3 6-1 Lois Newberry (GBR) R2 Tanisha Kashyap (1190) 3-6 6-3 6-2 (6) Noelia Bouzo Zanotti (ESP, 698) QF Tanisha Kashyap (1190) vs (2) ...

Re: ATP Shanghai Masters 2024
Bhambri/Olivetti seem to have withdrawn from the Shanghai Masters. They were scheduled to play the top seeds, but their spot in the draw has been taken by an alternate pair. Bad news! The draw says "illness" (not specifying which partner), so probably a temporary problem. Draw sheet menti...

Re: ITF 3xW35 Series - California, USA, Sep/Nov, 2024
Jay mixed up Kayla Cross with Kayla Day (I think a top-120 player). But it doesn’t matter because Rutuja can’t seem to regain her singles form, at all. A 6-3 6-1 loss. Maybe time to become a doubles specialist?

^^^ And now she made a late withdrawal from this tournament. Wonder what’s up! Perhaps, ask for a wildcard and play the W15 Mysuru event?

Re: ITF 3xW35 Series - California, USA, Sep/Nov, 2024
Ugh. Rutuja and Ema have given a walkover in their doubles R1. Ema also withdrew from her singles QR1 which was supposed to be the day after their finals at Berkeley, so I thought she was resting herself for doubles but now this. Hopefully, Rutuja is A-okay to play her singles match tomorrow.

Re: Sahaja Yamalapalli thread
Sahaja has a new mentor in Harsh Mankad as per Tenicity’s social media update. It refers to the upcoming WTA events in North America, which I assume is really the ITF events instead. I’m not sure if Harsh will be traveling with her during tournaments but it seems that she is in Minnesota right now w...

Rutuja is drawn to face the 7th seed Kayla Cross at Redding W35. Kayla has beaten Sahaja in straight sets this year. Tough match.
Rutuja and Ema are playing together again and they have a repeat match against Ayana/Eryn whom they defeated in the SF at Berkeley. Again, a tough one!

^^^ and lost the match 7-6 2-6 6-10…
Initially, Rutuja entered here with Paige with whom she won 2 titles this year but the Kiwi might have had to cancel her commitment which then brought on this partnership with Ema. I wonder if they will continue to play together next week as well (most likely!).

Re: ITF 3xW35 Series - California, USA, Sep/Nov, 2024
Rutuja/Ema have won the first set in a tiebreaker. They were always a break down but played catchup and finally held a critical game in the end followed by taking the TB quite easily. Hope they win the next set too!
