Re: Rutuja Bhosale thread

Before people come in and whine about Rutuja after her match (prediction: straight set loss), let me remind everyone that Q Wang was a former top-20 WTA player who’s returning after a break. :D

Re: North American Challengers 2024

Sahaja and Shrivalli will be playing in a few ITF tournaments in the US starting this week. For the first week in Charlottesville, Sahaja has made the main draw direct acceptance while Shrivalli will have to play in the qualifying draw. I believe this is Shrivalli’s first time playing in the US. Her...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Good job by Rutuja to get us the lead, although the 2nd set looked scary with the Kiwi girl trying hard to change the momentum.

Ankita vs Lulu. If this tie goes to the doubles rubber, beating Erin Routliffe is not going to be an easy task.

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Todays lineup shows:

Rutuja vs Monique Barry (632)
Ankita vs Lulu Sun (169)

Are we really going to trust Ankita in singles when we could field either one of Shrivalli or Sahaja? :damn:

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Doubles to the rescue again. There was a minor hiccup from 5-2 to 5-4 but thankfully they regrouped and won the deciding deuce point. 6-4 6-4 and 2-1 win for Team India.

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

India started strong with a 3-0 lead but back to a 1 game break now. PGT serving 4-3. That happy birthday song is really annoying. How has the players and team captains not complained yet? 1st set to Team India 6-4. Solid service game from AR seals the deal. This is not done yet since the Kor...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

And the doubles nomination was changed from Shrivalli/Prarthana to Ankita/Prarthana. Does Ankita even have the energy to play one more match?

From being a break up at 2-1 to losing 4-6. Watch Ankita lose this match and potentially screw our chances of winning this tie against TPE. :damn:

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

We should field Shrivalli as the 2nd singles candidate for this tie against China considering neither Rutuja nor anybody else would be a favorite. Shrivalli has the tools to cause a ruckus even if it’s just winning a set or gaining more than 4 games each set.

My jinxing continues to work so far. When I watch and root for our players, they lose. When I don’t expect them to win, they make miracles :bounce:

Niki won the SLP doubles title, finished the match late evening, caught a 2h? flight to CDMX and played his Q1 match at 4p local time to defeat the 7th seed American Langmo :notworthy: Aces fired from both the players in this match. 11 from Niki and 9 from the American. Mexico City Open ATP 1...

Only Arjun and Jeevan has a winnable match there. Marcus Daniell is retiring this year, announcing that he will donate 50% of his winnings to charities. He’s also the founder of HIA (High Impact Athletes), an organization that’s built to raise funds for charities.
