He felt that he was targetted by the dope testers when he lost the case. https://x.com/mikaelymer/status/1695117835415011597?s=61&t=fXj3_uPKR1G5xS5wBzn3bg Also - some more interesting news here: It says something that Sweden's fourth and fifth best tennis players at that time have given up tenni...

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread

All those fell through rankings due to injuries and lack of active playing. Ramkumar (with/without injury) has fallen so low despite playing regularly throughout the injury. Also very rare for somebody to just have so many losing streaks. Kiki, Sloane etc come to mind but they somehow recovered. Ram...

Re: Indian Archery Thread ...

Compound archery is much more competitive than recurve in terms of making any errors at all. Jyothi Vennam's achievement of some 7 world championship medals (including her first gold here) would have gotten her a Khel Ratna for any other sport. It's very unfortunate and for no fault of her own that ...

Re: Badminton Asian series tournaments May-June 2023

Gopichand was finally back in the player's corner this week. Was pretty much there atleast for the interval for every Indian match except Sindhu's (🤔). Treesa/Gayathri repeating the same errors over and over again - especially after leading in the third set by 4-5 points and then losing a string of ...

Tennis analogue for Sudirman Cup would be the United Cup. Previously they did have the Hopman Cup too.

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

The problem with China advancing and not Korea is that it is bad for India if we want to have any chance of going up next year. We will have to be better than China and beat one of the two coming down. If it was Korea who did not advance, next year we would have to beat Korea and one other. Roughly...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

Love it that Korea ended as #2. But from an Indian standpoint, I think it's always better to hope that, if not India, Japan and China go through everytime. When they play the world group play off, only China and Japan, with their best team available ofcourse, have a shot at beating other teams. And ...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India

On her good day, Ankita can defeat China #1 Zhu Lin, as she has previously, including the Fed Cup tie back home in India. Zhu Lin has a game VERY similar to Ankita (just more consistent on her serve and doesn't get broken as often). She just had a meteoric rise in her ranking courtesy AO 4th round a...

Re: Indian Badminton Thread ...

Asking for support for doubles is a losing cause. Only India cares so much about it. I couldn’t care less despite it being a key rubber in team matches. Totally wrong. This *might* be true in tennis, but on the BWF circuit, singles and doubles are very distinct, and paid equal importance, equal sho...

Both Mihika and Mahak did play some the junior slams. Mihika: Wimb: QR1 (lost to Coco Gauff); USO: R1. Had wins over players who went on to become top WTA: Qinwen Zheng(!!! likely the next Chinese Slam winner), Mai Hontama, Yuki Naito. Mahak: AO R1 (lost to phenom Kostyuk who won the whole thing); W...

Re: Karman Kaur Thandi

I definitely would not that say En Shuo Liang is not KKT level. If anything En Shuo has just been underperforming than her as actual level. With a CHR of 150 in singles, 2-0 H2H against KKT (she had beaten her at 2018 Asian Games as well before winning a bronze), the 2018 AO girls singles and double...
