So if we need to go above 5 we would need to maximize in women's wrestling and boxing. I have no doubts on the shooters' skills but I doubt they have the mental stength to win ...

Re: Paris Olympics 2024
Outside of Neeraj and SatChi it is a question of how many we can manage in women's boxing and wrestling. The shooters I feel will flatter to deceive. The hockey team has regressed. Do the rest even have a chance?

Re: FIDE Candidates 2024
This event bodes well for the future of Indian chess. A world champion after Anand is a distinct possibility now. In fact rating difference of Gukesh and Dirren is not much so he has a good chance.

While Krishnan was No. 6 among amateurs in 1961 in combined ranking of professionals and amateurs he was No. 17. https://archive.org/details/sim_tennis-illustrated_1962-03_9_10/page/50/mode/2up By and large he was a top 10 player from 1959-62 and some had him in the top 10 in 1965 also. https://en.w...

Re: The Slam titlists
Since you are including veteran's doubles you should include Vijay who I think won 3, 1 with Anand. 1989- Wimbledon over 35 with Anand 1998- US Open over 45 with Jose Higueras 1999- Australian Open over 45 with ?? Also runner up in 1996- US Open over 35 with Tim Wilkinson 2000- Wimbledon over 45 wit...

I didn't realise Leander was in the top 100 only for 36 weeks. Always thought it was more.

Re: Roland Garros Claycourt Run-Up Tournaments 2024
There have been great days when our heroes defeated people. But, I can't remember back to back three top-65 wins. When was the last time? Well, in *modern* and *human* history, of course. Last time was way back in Indian Wells 2011 by Somdev- Mannarino, Baghdatis and Malisse before going down to Na...

Is it better to use a 16x19 racket or an 18x20 racket? Any recommendations for either of these? I use a Babolat Pure Strike 18x20 racket. While I love it I find it a little heavy.

Re: Indian Badminton Thread ...
The selectors have named young stars Anmol Khrab, Ashmita Chaliha, and Tanvi Sharma who were part of the gold medal-winning team at the Badminton Asia Team Championships this year. Excited to see Anmol and Tanvi, would have liked to see Unnati as well. Yes but we don't have a good doubles pair. SO ...
