Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

I think real numbers are not getting reported. If I use my office as a case study, there are RAT kits available. Those who test positive go into self quarantine. Some of them do RT-PCR but the milder ones who don't need to see a doctor can get away without a RT-PCR. Also mandatory testing of all con...

Re: Football: Indian National Team news ...

Hong Kong had finished ahead of South Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia whole the rest qualified since the remaining teams withdrew. In the main round India beat Korea and Hong Kong to win silver. Do we know why they all withdrew? India had topped one of the two pools in qualification anyway though. N...

Re: General Cricket Thread ...

Not sure if anybody is watching but England and New Zealand are playing a memorable match. England just scored 118 runs in 10 overs thanks to Bairstow and Stokes. By the way this is a test match. India didn't score 118 in 10 overs in their T20. At this rate survival of T20 is a big question.

Re: Football: Indian National Team news ...

The most famous victory vs Hong Kong came in the 1964 Asia Cup. That year only 4 teams played in the main draw- Israel, India, South Korea and Hong Kong. Hong Kong had finished ahead of South Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia whole the rest qualified since the remaining teams withdrew. In the main roun...

Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)

Most cases in Mumbai are asymptomatic anyway. Probably getting picked up because people are testing before flying.

Re: BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals

Today in the badminton world even tournaments like the China Open, Indonesia Open and Denmark Open have higher or equal status compared to the All England. Nobody cares about English badminton any more. Badminton World Championship would rate far higher compared to these tournaments. So as an indivi...

Re: Indian Premier League (IPL)

What is your definition of fast? Abid Ali and Irfan Pathan i agree ran in fast but never bowled fast. Munaf Patel very early in his career became a line and length bowler. And Nissar was born in modern day Pakistan.

Re: Indian Sporting Achievement of the Year

I didn't repeat the ones Sin Hombre had. I added onto what he had written. Few I had missed out would be: 1947: Prakash Nath reaches All England final 1952: KD Jadhav's bronze at the Olympics 1954: Krishnan winning Junior Wimbledon 1956: Mankad and Roy putting on 413 for the 1st wicket (though same ...

Re: BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals

I think Lakshya Sen's rise made a big difference. He playing first singles meant Srikanth and Prannoy faced relatively easier opponents. Just shows our depth in singles. Of course I am taking nothing away from them. A 100% record is simply amazing.
