Yeah the court case, Henty Blofeld's liking for earrings and prawn curry and naan and Boycott's grandmother and how all that transformed cricket broadcast in India can be a story for another day.

It is a long story how India got the WC to move out of England. If people are interested I can write the story here and the behind the scenes manipulations that happened.

Re: India Davis Cup -2025
I don't think Sumit would play if Rohit Rajpal remains captain. He'll give some reason and pull out.

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India
^^^ Maybe Rajit was talking about Rohit Rajpal pretty much running AITA now? I have no authentic info, but the rumors wafting around was that Rohit had got elected as president (but the election results are in sealed envelopes with the High Court and not announced, because of the case filed by ...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India
Hope that the AITA consulted with Maaya on whether she wanted to be a reserve. Generally, a younger player on a Davis cup or BJK team is expected to gain experience by watching and interacting with accomplished pros. However, in this case, Maaya may be better served with observing and working with ...

Re: Padel: Mix of Tennis & Sqaush - Now in India
Don't know much about the growth of padel in India but pickleball is definitely growing with India hosting some international tournaments and a couple of Indian players like Aarman Bhatia doing well.

Re: Tata Steel (Corus) Chess - Masters
I think Pragg vs Gukesh is going to be a rivalry for the future with Arjun also thrown into the mix. Similar to Kasparov-Karpov. Pragg and Gukesh are childhood friends. Hope this intense rivalry doesn't lead to a split in their friendship.

Re: India Davis Cup -2025
I think it is truly historic. I think after today SI forum should stop following tennis. We have sunk to such abysmal depths that beating Togo requires such huge celebrations. Wonder whether we'll ever climb about of this abyss. What a joke!!! Historic win indeed!!! In the old days we would face ...

Re: Gukesh D - 18th World Chess Champion
Gukesh plays Arjun today. Arjun who was having a horror of a tournament found form yesterday beating Nodirbek this clearing the path for Gukesh and Pragg. I have a feeling Gukesh and Arjun will play out a draw. So either Pragg wins by winning today or there is a tie-breaker between Pragg and Gukesh ...

Re: India Davis Cup -2025
Is beating a Togo player such a big deal? To what level have we come down? For a team that used to beat the likes of France and Australia we are celebrating wins over Togo.
