Re: Davis Cup 2019 - India

This thread has been a roller coaster ride of feelings. The tie hasn't even begun yet.

Re: $54(+H) Pune Challenger, November 11-18,2019

Mukund has the tools. He has the height too. He trains with Martin Spottel (as per the tour site) He has the backing of Virat Kohli foundation just like Sumit. Besides, at 22 he's got age on his side (from Indian pov) The breakthrough is just round the corner. Just needs more consistency and win mat...

Re: $54(+H) Pune Challenger, November 11-18,2019

Jay Clarke reaches the semis with a win over Diez. He has found success multiple times in India. He will face Ortega Olmedo in the first semi. Second semi will be between Ram and winner of Duckworth-Mukund. Duckworth has taken the first set. This doesn't look good for Sasi because he might not make ...

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread

As breakthrough season ends, Prajnesh has his task cut out for 2020 Prajnesh reflects on his season. He played at Pune to honor his dad's wish to continue playing tennis. Plenty of posts on that, check indtennisdaily twitter. I played a few too many tournaments at the beginning of the year. Till Ap...

Re: $54(+H) Pune Challenger, November 11-18,2019

Completely different RamK from what he has been throughout the year. No unnecessary clueless runs to the net, can hit good forehands from the baseline and he's managed to take the first set 6-4. Nagal got broken in the final game of the set with some UFEs Exchanging breaks, tiebreak and somehow Ram ...

His injury wasn't fully healed. He was playing with a strapped wrist. As per scroll media, he plans to play in Canberra challenger before AusOpen in Jan after spending his off season in Germany

Re: $54(+H) Pune Challenger, November 11-18,2019

RamK has a 5-0 H2H with Nagal. Last time they met was in Shenzen last year where RamK had won it in the decider, in a tiebreak. He was the higher ranked player in those meetings. Tomorrow is a different day

Re: AO 2020

No Chinese player in the direct entry list though. They will however come in through wildcards and qualies. Of all of them, Zhizhen seems to be the most probable guy who can win it, based on what he has achieved this season. What's the obsession with hosting this every year in the same country thoug...

Re: $54(+H) Pune Challenger, November 11-18,2019

Klein was down a break in the final set but managed to win it in the end. Both Rawat and Goveas have good forehands. Goveas took the match to Sumit in the second set, was able to hit some good returns and serve well too. Unfortunate for both to exit the tournament.

Re: East Asian Challengers, 2019

... he might enter the AO wildcard playoff as the top seed. But that discussion is based on many ifs, not sure how many of our guys will be entering it in the first place RamK and Sasi did. Top 3 seeds being Ito, Jung and Istomin. Nobody in Qualifying but Rawat and Kadhe are #4 and #5 as alternates...

Re: ATP/ITF/WTA tournament calendar updates

Just found on twitter, Feb challengers?

Not confirmed though but I think that's it. Contrary to our hopes that there will be a 3 week swing after Pune, there's just one in Bangalore. No tour event and no challenger event either in Asia in the week of Feb 17.

Re: $54(+H) Pune Challenger, November 11-18,2019

What happens if the entry list is exhausted? Who gets in then? or are those spots kept vacant and people start getting byes? Because that's what has happened, nobody left on the alternate list
